I have a cat with very thick hair, and her fleas stay on her. They never get in the house, but they drive her crazy. Is there anything I can use on her that won"t be putting poison in her system like that other stuff does?

A good remedy to keep fleas off of your cat is this simple solution: Slice a whole lemon very thin, including the peel, and add it to a pint of water. Heat this mixture right until the boiling point. Let the mixture sit overnight. In the morning, gently rub the mixture into your cat's fur and skin just to dampen it, not drench it. Do this once a month. This is a natural flea killer.

You can also use brewer's yeast every day for skin problems involving fleas. Sprinkle a small amount of brewers yeast onto your cat's food to keep fleas away.

Avoid flea powders containing pyrethrins or other poisons. Most essential oils can kill cats. And, garlic will make them sick.

I've never tried this, but my aunt gave me a natural remedy for fleas that is actually mild enough to use on my pet rat. You mix lavender oil and lemon slice together and bathe the pet in it. It's supposed to get rid of fleas and keep them away for a time...

YES YES, I DO! If you have SSS oil from Avon, spray this on a flea comb and comb thru your cats fur. Fleas HATE this and it will kill them on contact! And your cat will smell great and have a soft fur coat!

go to you're vet and ask for a pill called Capstar. give it to your cat and then wait about 30 minutes. all of the fleas will drop off and die. trust me it works, the SPCA used it on my kitten before I got him, they told me how good it is. unless you want to just give her a bath. then that's fine, but watch out, she might scratch.
