My understanding was that the general rule of thumb was either be over 30-35, or have had 2 children. If you have three at 19, and you say you're done, your doctors should be taking care of it. If not, I suggest you shop around for new doctors that will have your best interest in mind.

Looking at your list it doesn't look like you've tried out everything yet. There are non-latex condoms,as well. Boyfriend also needs to understand that what he wants has to be weighed against a possible 4th child (or 5th, 6th, etc.) and that's a BIG deal. If he can't deal with it, maybe he's not so special after all.

Talk to your doctors, or interview new ones. This not insurmountable, but you're going to have to take charge and get pushy about it.

I would definitely try to find a doctor that will tie your tubes. Go out of state if you have to. I'm 20 and about 5 months pregnant with my second child and I'm trying to get my tubes tied. I had a c-section with my first and have to have one with this one. I don't want to have another c-section they only get worse with the more children you have. And it's hard on the body. Find a sympathetic doctor.unless you want another child. Good Luck I know how you feel. Condoms don't work with us, I've tried the pills,my sister was on the shot and I seen how it was with her I won't do it. I won't get the patch because of what it can do and I read that with an IUD that you should get it checked for placement after your period because it could've moved. sorry but I don't want to have to go to the doctor every month to make sure that it's still in place.

Well, I certainly understand your frustration. My best advice would be for you to consult with a doctor about the newest iud and diaphragm. They came out in 2006, and I have heard nothing but great things about the comfort of them both. Until you make that appointment though, I would recommend that you tell your Mandingo Warrior to calm down a bit. There is no need for him to be hitting the iud unless he is drilling for oil, and in that case, that's too deep and too hard to feel good to either of you.
GENTLE

Baby, How in the world do you have 3 babies by 19? I recommend that you abstain from sex until you find a husband to help you raise the 3 you have. You don't need to be having sex like that right now. Besides, when do you have the time to get your freak on with 3 babies .... SLOW DOWN

Geesh...talk about being between a rock and a hard place.

I don't have a solution for you, but I feel the need to tell you that three of the people I know who had IUD's ALL got pregnant. ALL of them!! So, I don't care how effective they say they are, they're obviously NOT. Just wanted to let you know that.

Best of luck with your dilemma. It's a difficult one.

Why is preventing pregnancy solely YOUR problem? Why can't your boyfriend wear a condom rather than you putting your health at risk. Wait a minute. You're only 19 and you already have THREE children???? With all of this effort you've been putting into trying different forms of birth control, you haven't been very successful have you. Something is wrong with your story.

Go to your OB and tell him all this. I don't understand why they won't do your tubes when you already have three kids. Your OB probably knows your history with side effects. They may still not do it because you're not married (big deal, i know...). Just lay out your problem, and you may be able to talk them into it. I know a guy that had a vasectomy when he was 18, and he had no kids.

Ask your doctor about other IUDs, implants like Norplant, reversible tubal blockage (they put a silicone rubber caulk plug into the fallopian tube openings), depo provera.

get the nevua ring, you can feel it sometimes... but it's better than being 4 kids deep in life.

hey, and see if not having sex will do anything for not having anymore kids... or see if your BF will stick around if you don't sleep with him.

and by the way, sex is better when it hurts!

You boyfriend is either longer than expected or he's hitting too hard which is not good for either of you. Tell him to be more gentle. He doesn't have to bang you up all the time to get the pleasure he desires.
