well a Christian knows that Jesus is our anchor in the midst of the storm...that He is a stable source for us when the waves of oppression hit us.....have you heard the song..." the Anchor Holds" cant remember who wrote it or but Ray Boltz sang it...but it talks about How the anchor {Jesus} holds when we are battered and that we can trust Him to always bring us through anything that comes against us.......He will never leave us or forsake us and never allows us to go through lives hard times alone....so thus He is my ANCHOR.....my source of strength and stability...he never changes ....is the same yesterday ,today and forever....we can trust Him....

It's what some Christian sailors wear. The anchor symbolizes the person's dedication to nautical matters, and the crucifix symbolizes the person's dedication to Christianity.

The anchor has always been regarded as a symbol of saftey.

Christians therefore, adopted the anchor as a symbol of "HOPE" in future existence.

HOPE this helps,
Billy!

The first time I saw one was when I was in the Navy.

It's just a crucifix made especially for sailors.

Anchors hold a ship in place. Jesus holds us in safety. In the storms of life the anchor of Jesus will always hold thru the winds of trials.and the waves of hurt.

I honestly don't know for sure... perhaps someone in the Navy or just anyone involved in boating as a profession (fisherman) or hobby.

heart =charity
cross = faith
