My pain is from my sholders to right on top of my waist on my right and left side, lower back. It feels like my kidneys hurt when I breath and any movement I do with my waist realy hurts. Also when I lift my arms up, or anything else it hurts. I realy can't sleep for long 'cuase the pain won't let me, only lying on my back helps a little. I have been taking a lot of IB prophen for my headaches & earaches. Do you think that taking to much IB prophen is a cuase for the pain in my kidneys? (I heard that that can happen). Also my urine is darker but does not smell like with a urine infection. I do not seem to have symtoms of a urine infections. I also do not feel dizzy or have blood in my urine. But I did have a realy bad fever 2 weeks ago and my kidneys were hurting a little. I took it as a flu with body aches. But now it hurts to even get up and walk. I know that I have to call a Dr. but I would like to know what to expect before I go. I am a little scared. Please Help. Thank You

It sounds like you have a urinary tract infection. Your Dr. will have to prescribe you an antibiotic. Also drink Cranberry juice as it naturally helps.

I'm not a Doctor but I suggest you see one. I'd also try drinking a few beers to flush your kidneys. Also drink plenty of water. Don't be scared, I've had a similar problem before and all the Doctor did was take a urine sample and prescribed me some antibiotics for the kidney infection. She also done blood tests to see if anything serious was developing. So I can only assume that is what will happen to you. Please get to a Doctor as soon as possible. Take Care!

It sounds a lot like a kidney stone. My father has has dozens of them. You should go to the doctor and get some pain reliever. A kidney stone isn't really that big of a deal, but they hurt severely. You need to start drinking lots, and lots of water!

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.

They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!

This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.

It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.

Generally kidney pain is radiated from one kidney..the kidney is located directly beneath the bottom 2 ribs..what you are describing sounds more like pleurisy, http://www.patient.co.uk/showdoc/23069037/ or Sciatica > http://www.spine-health.com/topics/cd/d_sciatica/sc01.html
or a slipped disc>> http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/diseases/facts/slippeddisc.htm

Yeah, go to the ER.
They can get you some pain medication, and see if it is an infection.
