Some people say Analog because of power problems but
I'd have to say DIGITAL PHONE because We have Time Warner Digital Phone and calls are clearer than analog.
Time Warner even hooked the phone up all over the house where the Verizon jacks used to be.
Ours have BACKUP POWER inside the VOIP/Cable modem so We can still surf the internet and make phone calls for another 20 hours when there's a power failure.

DiGITAL IS CLEARER AND YOU GET GREATER DISTANCE. If a phone says it has a digital ansering system, then it does not mean that the signal transmitted is digital. If a phone says Digital Spread Spectrum or DSS then it a true digital signal.
Think of analog as signal in the air that is being bombarded wth the electromagnetic interference from televisions and radios. Each of these bombardments causes your signal to weaken leading to pooreer quality sound and less distance.
For digital is doesn't have the same effect. The signal being transmitted isn't beig transmitted in whole but in little packets and then put back together when it gets to the other side.
Digital is also more private. People with old scanners can listen into your conversation if you have some of the older frequencies, since its not encoded.
Battery is more efficeint than digital, since it takes more power to transmit in analog thatn difital. Cell phone companies no longer build new towers to transmitt analog signals, but build them to transmitt digital signals becasue it costs them less power to transmit the signals.

analog is what 100% of the world is using. Digital phones aren't always digital and at least one half of the conversation is probably on an analog line.
Digital breaks the voice into data packets (digital scale) analog is a wave form like sound waves sort of.
Internet phone can be digital or analog but run on the internet and depending on the internet cloud, communications can be spotty

Analog or Digital? Home cordless phones can be either. Both will not work in a power outage!! You need a good old fashioned phone with a cord to work during a power outage. Why does the power go off, and your cord phone still work? The phone companies have battery backup in all central offices. If you unplug ANY cordless phone, you will see it is dead!! As for my preference of phone type, it would be digital. I get better range with spread-spectrum digital cordless phones. 5.8 Mhz. type.
