Slim Fast? It didn't even work for my 36 year old mother!
Here's what you can drink. Water. Water isn't that bad. Just drink water, no sodas. Cut your meals in half. Instead of eating the whole cheese burger, eat half of the cheese burger, and don't eat the fries! If you do this, (cutting everything you eat in half) you should lose some weight. No bed time snacks, no inbeween snacks, no snacks period! Exercise. It's a bad word, I know. You can run in place in your own living room, or room whatever you prefer, for about 10 minutes a day, and it will be just the same as getting out in the hot sun doing it. Sit ups, jumping jacks, even DANCING! You can turn on some MTV, and dance your fat away. LoL! Good luck!!

If you're not eating breakfast right now then go on and have a slim fast for that meal. It's a lot better for you than most of the alternatives. For lunch and dinner imagine your plate divided into quarters, one quarter for meat/protein, one quarter for whole grains/carbohydrates and half of your plate should be vegetables (potatoes and rice count as carbohydrates). Snacks can be fresh fruit, yogurt, small serving of cheese or similar. Try walking more.
You are still growing so your weight will continue to fluctuate. If you feel that you are overweight then speak to your parents or a physician. Otherwise eat healthy, drink water (not juice or soda) and exercise every day.

Slim fast works with exercise. Slim fast is considered the meal. You don't eat with it. Now they do have snacks but they are not eaten with slim fast. For a 13 yr old, slim fast is not recommended because you are still in the age of dramatic body development and it could mess up your growth.
The best way for a 13 yr old to lose weight is to be active. Unlike me, I have doctors who tell me not to get too active. It is safe for me to do simple exercises like walking 3 miles or running 1.5 miles. Sit ups, push ups, crunches, and such exercises can help build muscles and drop fat. Weight lifting for a 13 yr old can stunt growth because of puberty.
The best thing to eat is food with low calories or low fat. I can't tell you what is right for your body, the best way for you to get the right advice is to go see a doctor that specializes in weight loss.

been there did that at the same age...I used those drinks to replace meals. I believe it said to replace one to two meals a day...Breakfast was a slim fast shake...lunch would eat a good meal, u need vegstables..meat of any kind, best if the meat is NOT fried...need to be boiled or baked. stay away from pastas and white breads...wheat bread is best...and dinner is a slim shake again...snack on peanut butter toast, fruit, nuts..
but I found out that only last a short time...what has really worked for me and even the doctors will tell you this works...the MORE meals you eat and LESS amounts of them speeds up your matabalisum...and that is what HELPS you BURN off the calleries to help you loose weigh...
I was eating
8am breakfast: 2 peanut butter toast, 1%milk
10am snack: banana and 1% milk
12pm lunch: ham sandwich on WHEAT bread, lil light mayo, OR 2 (only 2) slices pizza THIN crust
3pm snack: in the stores u can find these sncks come in a box called 100 CALORIE PACKS (you can find these in LOTS of flavors, theres chocolate cookies, Ritz mix, oreos, wheat thins, and MORE)
5pm dinner: meat of your choice, half cup of vegtbles (frozen or fresh is best..NO canned veggies, they add to much extra in cans)
7pm snack (any of the snack I listed above)
I did this five months ago and lost 40 lbs...and thats not even exersesing...key is to eat SMALL amount, but eat often! I drink tea with SPLENDA no sugar, drink 1%milk, and water thats all. it will take YOU getting use to eating small meals...but after a week you and your body gets use to it and you will love the snacks in the middle..good thing about the meat..if not fried, you can eat as much RED meat you like...like steak! yum!!! hamburger paddy (use a george fourmen grill takes out the grease)

It may help if it's a temporary thing and you eat a sensible amount of calories, but honestly, if you do really low-calorie diets at your age, you can screw up your metabolism for the rest of your life. I've been there--I *know*. Please also remember that you're still growing, so if you have a *little* extra weight, your body's probably preparing for a growth spurt. If you're really overweight, Slim Fast won't help very much--it's really for losing about five or ten extra pounds, not as a long term thing. It would be best to talk to your doctor about it in that case.

The thing about slim fast, is that you will absolutely lose the weight. However, you will gain it back. It's been said before, but the quantity of your food isn't as big an issue as the quality of your food. The healthiest way to eat, is to do balance the amount of protein, fat, and carbohydrates.
