Every now and then you get to see a cop pull over some jackass who's been terrorizing the other motorists. It restores your faith in the system for a few miles. ☺

In Arizona, agressive drivers get 8 points on their license, possible jail time, a misdemeanor offense, several hundred in fines, and have to take Traffic Survival School or have their license suspended by MVD indefinitely.
I teach the class, so I don't make it too bad for them, but I do point out what will happen for the next 2 years - any traffic violation conviction is an automatic suspension of license for up to a year.

Aggressive drivers speed, drive recklessly, and sometimes hit things they're not supposed to hit. The penalties vary from state to state, but almost all states require drivers with traffic citations to take some form of class which includes material on aggressive driving. You can visit www.safemotorist.com to find out more about the penalties in your state.

I once saw somebody pulled over by a state trooper.
Someone passed my hubby & I on a windy road, double yellow line, on a curve, at night. They almost hit a vehicle (from the opposite direction) head on. Of course, it was a state trooper they almost hit. The trooper did a u-turn, passed us, and promptly pulled the guy over! It was kind of funny. That stuff doesn't happen often but I'm sure the guy got a huge fine for wreckless driving. I do wonder if they've learned their lesson though.

I had an incident of road rage. It was a young girl who was trying to pass me and there was no room to do so. She threw coffee on my car, punched my car, and then cursed up a storm at me. I called the police and they did nothing. So, consequences.... nope.
