I know it is no problem for someone to lose a pint of blood, as in giving blood. The other way around, for example, a blood transfusion, where 3 pints is given instead of 2. what happens? High blood pressure? or something more drastic?

Nothing happens that's dramatic. You just use it up and it's recycled so to speak. The lose of a pint will be replaced quickly from reserves. Gaining wil signal that there's a need to replenish reserves, and should the reserves be already full, the excess will be consumed in normal activities and not be replaced. The body is a wonderful machine.

You might get high blood pressure but it wont last for long. your body makes new vlood every 24 days or something like that. If you had a blood transfusion a 2 months ago, none of the blood would still be in you now .
