This is a question that has tugged at my heart a lot. I have never been close to mine. We are just two different people born of the same mother. It is so painful now after decades of being 'just siblings' when my bro is at the lowest possible lows of his life. He is terminally ill with brain cancer that is of the recurring type. He has been operated three times - the last was 7 months ago. The tumour is recurring and is devastating his spirit. The love we have for one another was always there, but in these hard days, it has become ever so strong - ofcourse without any words.

I have 2 brothers, both younger; 1 by 4 yrs (T) and the other by 6 (J). I am very close and look up to my baby brother T. My bond with him grew when he left for college many yrs ago and it only grew. I love him, he has stood by me and although I am older and he is younger, he helped me..he is proud of me, there is no stronger bond. My other brother J, well he has chosen the easy way in life by con-ing and lies, although I have always extended a hand to help and be the big sister, I have recently washed my hands of him. Not easy to do, as I am the softy, however over 15 yrs he has stolen from me, my children, lied, cheated, etc..the list too long to run through. He was draining my energy with his flashy lies and con ways....Wether right or wrong, I feel as those I have 1 brother only.

Yes. There are 3 girls and 3 boys. We call each other and have a reunion every 1 or 2 years. The baby is now 44 and the oldest is 54. We all live in the same state right now. Love my borthers and sisters. m

I'm close to my younger siblings, especially my teenaged sister, but my older brother and I don't really get along.

No. I see her when I have to only.
She very rarely visits our elderly father & didn't even visit my Mum when she was in a nursing home for a while before she died. On the odd occassion she visits my Dad the visit usually lasts about 1 hour, no more.
Her children never visit either except at Christmas.
I feel that i have to be nice to her for my Dad's sake but after he is gone I will not be seeking her out.

I've got four brothers; two live on their own, and the youngest two still live with my parents. There is a two-to-twelve year age gap between us, so the degree of closeness varys a bit, but: yes, I am.

Yes, very much so. My older sister moved to San Fran (other side of the country from me!) a few years back. Our relationship strained slightly. But she has been living with me this summer and we are great friends!
