Republican or Democrat, which party has the most supporters in the U.S. Armed Forces and why?

Republicans for two reasons:

1. Republicans always increase the pay of the armed services. (Clinton raises were pathetic, if I had gotten Bush size raises, I'd have stayed in)

2. Republicans aren't telling the armed services that their jobs are pointless and aren't calling them "baby killers" like the democrats are.

There have always been more republicans in the Military. If I had to whittle down a definition of a democrat I would come to 'hippie' for democrats. Hippies don't join the military.
