It depends: some people find it gets better and some that it gets worse.
As you get older you are more likely to get chronic illness or aches and pains (e.g. arthritis), which is obviously not to be looked forward to. With age you learn the importance of good health.
If you have built up a good pension, you can retire and live happily, but on the other hand you will find thre are fewer opportunities for you. Age disrimination at work , and particularly for job applications, is really unpleasant and almost universal.
If you enjoy active sports you will find yourself less able to do well.
Some things you do when young, like fall in love and go to discos, you wish you could still do when you are older. On the other hand youth is a time of much anguish in settling down and making relationships.
Time seems to go by much faster when you are older.
What would be really good would be to live twice so that we could go through life again and avoid all the painful mistakes we made the first time!

Good question, as far as becoming an adult it gets tougher because you have more responsibilities and less fun. There are so many more things to worry about, the older you get. It probably depends a lot on the person and his or her experience. For me, some parts of life have gotten better and some have gotten worse. If you had a lousy childhood it can only get better.

For some it gets better, for some it gets worse...life is what you make of it. I'm 51 and in alot of ways my life is SO much better than it ever was. I am more sure of myself & my beliefs, I am married to my best friend for 15 years, I live in the country like I always wanted to, and I'm not doing drugs or drinking anymore. So for me, yeah life got ALOT better when I got older.

I personally think you go through good patches and bad patches, but life generally gets better (well it has for me). As I have got older I am alto more independent and have alto more options what to do with my life. Obviously this is my opinion, am sure some people's lives get worse, and I'm only 23 so hopefully there's alto life left to get better/ worse!!

I believe that life gets better as you get older. My life has gotten alot better since I have grown up because I am making better decisions for myself and I have learned to appreciate what I have a whole lot more then when I was younger. It may seem hard to believe be someday you will.

In general it has to get better as you get older because you have the freedom to make your own choices. But with that comes responsibility and of course if we are none too good at making choices, then we may have preferred life when younger. I think it gets better but is weighted by circumstance and responsibility.
Youth is full of self centered thoughts and behaviour. With age comes wisdom, experience. Much better!

If one is a strong, honest and realistic person with the view of learning from your lifes experiences and take a positive view when viable then why should it be worse.
However, if one is a victim and sees their life experiences as a method of self persecution and self pity then it will be horrible to get older.
I have certainly had a life of very tough lessons and like any other human have fallen weak to them, though my strength and improvement has come from getting back up not from the falling down.
I have a life mission to improve as I get older and up to date its working.

The first answer is a great reflection of my life, because I have not chosen to put lots of effort into "making it better". I just try to enjoy/be happy/get through one day at a time.
I think if you want a "better" life and are willing to define that into goals and work toward those goals, you will have a "better" life as you achieve those goals.

Life is what you make it, it all depends on the situations life brings. No matter how old you get you will have times when you think it gets worse and times when you think are great and couldnt be better!
