Why does a little bit of milk in a cup seem like a whole gallon when it is spilled?

It is because the milk after spilled covers a larger surface area than the inside of the cup . I solved this problem by using a huge cup filled half way with milk , now I'm amazed at the small amount of the spill .

This is due to the way the milk reacts to the container it is in. If it is on the floor, it is no longer in a container, thus, it spreads out. Consider the shape of an ice cube versus the shape of rain. See the difference? Good question!

Because when milk reacts with a flat non-porous material, like a table, a chemical reaction takes place instantly quadrupling the size of each milk molecule, thus making it look like a gallon.

Because liquid shapes to the form of it container so therfore when spilled on a flat surface it spreads as far as it can. Making it a b**** to clean

I have to say that... and stepping in something wet with my socks on are my biggest pet peeves..lol when my daughters have tumped their cereal bowls or glasses of milk i jus wanna lose my mind, and its not but an accident but the mess is hella!! LOL

Because is White and ur floor is dark, so it makes looks alot
oppose to water. u only see half of it since is colorless
and density of milk heavier than ur water. so it evaporate slower than water
