Is this stated in the Quran? If so, does is specifically say something about covering the whole body or what?

the hijab isnt necessarliy a term used to literally mean a scarf for covering.....but as a word meaning to cover the body in any means (modesty). The Qu'ran says that a woman must cover her body...(no showing of the privates, legs, etc.), but she's not required to cover her face, hands, or feet. and a man must cover his body but is only required from the navel to the knees.

In the Quran women have to cover themselves to protect them from being annoyed or touched or raped.

Prophet! Tell thy wives and thy daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them (when they go abroad). That will be better, so that they may be recognised and not annoyed. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.

This was a verse or the Quran. Its for their protection because woman's entire body except of face and hands is like private. They cannot expose their body to anyone other than their husbands or a doctor when they are ill.. No one outside her family is allowed to touch her. Only sexual relationship allowed is after marriage as it is in the Bible.

I saw on a documentary that it was invented by Muslim leaders after some Catholic nuns visited the area. They liked the idea of it and decided to adopt it for their religion. I believe it was in Iran first and spread from there, but I may be mistaken on that point.

1) Men's fear of their own sexual urges that makes them feel that a woman's body is nasty.
2) Men feeling that they are allowed to rape any woman who looks sexy because men can't control their sexual feelings.
3) Sears. They sell clothing for everyone.
People who are vehemently religious are afraid and obsessed with their own sexual feelings. Word.
