Muslems are the same as anyone else. Most are not relgious extremists. Most share most of the same moral and world views that you have- they don't like cheaters, they like peace, they don't approve of theft or hurting people, they like to help people. People are basically people.
People get out of religion what they put into it. Some people will go into any religion and conclude their god is judgmental and tough- calling for punishment of those who sin. Others will get from their religion that we should all be decent to each other and all get along. It doesn't matter if it's Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, Jews or Muslems.
Unfortunately, fundamentalist extremism is a very powerful force in the muslem world. Even the fundamentalist extremists are decent people in most of their lives. But any religion's fundamentalist extremists end up justifying all sorts of inhumanity in the name of their god.

Yes I have "really met" them. My first roommate back in freshman in college was one, as well a couple friends I made in the past 4 years (both females and males).
It depends on what you meant "on news;" the angry "terrorism" portrait by the dominating American media? ABSOLUTELY NOT.
First of all, if they're real terrorism, they would have been kidnapped by the secret service or big brother.
Second, what you see on "news" are only small portion of the Muslim/ Islamic, and they're on the radical end of the spectrum. Muslim/ Islamic people very nice, kind, peaceful, and spiritual people in general. Most of their wars are caused by Caucasian/ Roman empire (the Christian's crusade), or the modern Jewish state- Israel. Also, majority of modern war involve the US (bless by god and freedom fries) messing around with other foreign countries for the best US economic/ power interest.
Bad & Selfish. So I guess you don't know who funded the Al Qaueda, you don't know who helped Saddem to become Prez of Iraq, and you sure don't know who protected Osama back in 2001....Special Thansk to the US for interfering and screwing up the Middle-east region since 1970?
I'm an US citizen who appreciate, respect, and support peace and diversity.

My elderly (now passed away) grandfather was quite unlearned about Muslims, Arabs, Jews and all that. He invited this Muslim Arab man and his family over for a visit.
My grandfather only knew this new friend was from the Middle East. The visit was going well until my grandfather innocently asked him if he was a Jew.
The Muslim Arab flew into a spitting rage, cursed and ranted that he was not a Monkey, Pig Jew. My grandfather promptly uninvited him.
Muslims peaceful? Not on your life.
I worked with a Muslim from Pakistan. The man would raid other people's garbage cans for USED DISPOSABLE DIAPERS to use on his kid! He made good money working for the city and was too tight with his money.
Myself and another co-worker was highly irate with this idiot - but tried to calm down and offered to buy his infant daughter brand new disposable diapers - BUT - the man would not hear of it and called it charity and he was too proud to take charity from Infidels.
We resisted beating the man senseless - but barely, by God's grace.
Needless to say, every time I run into a "professed" Muslim, I am sorely disappointed.
One Muslim I met when around 21 years of age was okay - but he wanted me and other (infidels) to not tell his father and brothers that he was hanging around with Non-Muslims and daring a non-muslim woman.
His family would have cut him off as a family member.

They are just like normal people. I have some arab friends at my high school. Once you get to know them, you dont really think of them as Muslims anymore just your friends. I guess the ones on the news are just extremists that have been raised in a bad enviornment, you know with all the war and stuff. There are bad people everywhere, in every religion. You just have to know the difference.

I have met several Muslims. They are the same as Christians. None of the people I met were terrorists or anything like that. I wouldn't be surprised if I met a Muslim but thought he was a Christian.

Muslim people are very nice..
Very religious.. Specially in Ramadam they do fasting till sun down.
I respect their religion..
Some muslims just misinterprete the KORAN that is why they become terrorist
A muslim friend told me that blowing up yourself and killing innocent people would not give you a good life in 2nd life.
Their beliefs is similar to Christian.

I have Muslim friends and you know what? They're regular people. Though I'm not Muslim they're just like me except that they have a very ritualized religion that I don't share.

yes, I have met many muslims and they are the coolest people ever. I don't judge them by what I see on t.v cause I wouldn't like it if people told me what a Christian is because of what they see on t.v.
God bless u.

Never met one that I know of.
But it bugs the tar out of me that so many terrorists claim Islam.
It must be an awful belief.
