y does it cost so much 4 airplane tickets and the plane gets delayed and it still costs so much?

Fuel prices are high, aircraft maintenance is expensive, Pilots ask for massive salaries. I am a technician and I can tll you that aircraft components are very expensive. Something that may cost 1 dollar for lets say ur car will cost maybe 20 dollars for aircraft use.

Because Its not their fault for the plane to be delayed.. Their more for your safety.. If they know there are alot of turbulence up there, they will slow the plane's speed which sometimes cause the delay, or sometimes they have problem boarding passengers.

Plane ticket cost is based on the fuel cost of the airline..

Right now the cost of oil is really high so the plane ticket is high also.

The others answered correctly...the fuel costs are terribly high right now, therefore the airline passes this expense on to the customer.

To get the best price, be flexible, book at least 14 days out and check as many airlines as possible. The "discount" airlines are not always the cheapest price, nor the best flights, and....aren't usually on-time.

Plane tickets are expensive because of demand and fuel. A flight gets delayed for reasons, alot of the time that you arent told. Most of the time it is for your safely, remember that next time your flight is delayed. Its most likely for the best and people complain. They cant shorten the fair because of a delay, they can accomodate you, i.e, food voucher and reduced hotel fare, but it is beyond the gate agents control, so treat him/her well

Becuause gasonline is the fuel, and that price has gone up.

Plus people have to take their time to fly you around.
