Yesterday, I left her to pet-sit my American Eskimo named Bosco. He is a boy. He is still a puppy. Well I have been friends with her for 5 years now and I gained alot of trust in her. I gave her the schedule. It had all the things to do for my pet.. ( I told her where is the food and stuff) I was leaving for a club meeting with my Pet Club.
It was a very short pet-sit. I came home at 12:42 and saw my friend hitting the dog. Bosco couldn't do anything cuz he was tangled with the leash. I took pictures with my digital camera and ran over there and told her to stop. She stood there surprised. I un-tangled my dog and put him in my bedroom for about 5 min. cuz I had to talk to her. I was very upset. When I saw the schedule I gave her, she didn't do any 1 of them. I went to go look at his food bowl and water bowl. It didn't have any food or crumbs. Neither did the water. I look at the treat bag. It was very full. I went to my room and see if she took the leash off. Nope. I got very mad...

I kicked her out of my house and haven't talk to her since... After she left, I went into my bedroom and took my dog out. I then fed him, walked him, played with him, gave him a big juicy bone, and bathe him and groom him. Then I let him take a short nap. I took him to the vet this morning and turn out he has a few scars. The vet treated him and then I bought him home. I wanted to report this to the police but I really don't know what to do. Help?

I banned her from my house. I really don't know if she is hurtin other dogs. But I am really worried for my puppy. He hasn't been eating well. Everytime he hears a dog bark he gets scared and hides in the corner.

If you guys are wondering about the schedule here it is.
Things to do
1.Feed dog. (With the big dog food under the counter and fill water bowl with fresh clean drinking water)
2. Play with dog and give big bone and little treats.
3. Take him out for a walk for 45 minutes.
4. Bathe dog for about 30 minutes with warm water and dog shampoo.
5. Take clean towel in my bedroom and dry him.
6. Groom him with the brush next to the sink.
7. Let him take a nap in my bedroom on my bed.

I have contact the police and showed them the picture. The police are now tracking her down and getting her arrested. I ditched her already and never let her touch my dog or even be 10 feet from my dog. She will never see me or Bosco.

You have every right to be angry at the way your friend was hitting the dog. ...and dogs need access to water at will. I'm not sure if you can do anything legally for the hitting. Not giving the dog food according to your wishes, though a breach of your trust, is not abusive. Many dogs are fed 1 or 2 times a day and are perfectly healthy.

You should not let your friend have the dog because he/she might abuse your dog again. And you don't want that to happen again. Try to take care of the dog by your self because it's now your responsibility to take care of it now. And Don't ever let her alone with your dog again. If you think this person has been hurting other dogs too you may want to warn the owners... this way you aren't forced to take leagel action against a friend unless you want to.She isn't your friend. She is scum.
If she seriously injured your poor puppy, then take the photos to the police. If she just hurt him, then make it clear to her that she is no longer a welcome part of your life. If she tries anything else mean or doesn't leave you alone, e-mail the pictures to everyone she knows with a detailed explanation. Anyone who would do this sort of thing to a defenseless puppy wouldn't think twice about doing it to a child as well. Do you really want someone like that near you?
Best of luck!
Have a great day!

I would not have been able to have conrolled my temper. You should have bi*tchslapped the sh*t out of your "friend", yes there is something you can do. you said you had pictures and had taken him to the vet. Contact your local ASPCA or Humane Society. Charges can be filed against her especially if you have evidence i.e. the pictures and the vet saying that the animal had injuries. If you don't have a local organization such as the ones above, then call the police and tell them you have proof. Don't call the emergency number though just the station and don't wait too long

Time to get a new friend. You don't need someone like her in your life. Your poor puppy has probably been traumatized so don't be surprised if he growls at or tries to bite a woman that reminds him of her. Dogs have good memories. I once had a dog that had been abused by a black person before I got her and after that she would growl at and attempt to attack any black person that reminded her of the one that attacked her. Give your puppy extra love with special treats and attention. Oh and stand firm in your decision to dump this friend. She'll probably try to call you in a few days and worm her way back in but you don't need her she's bad news.

take the pictures to the police or animal control and have her charged with animal cruelty. This is a serious issue. People who abuse animals most likely abuse their kids.
Have her arrested and charged for her crime. She's lucky I didn't find her doing that, I'd have shot her.
Glad to see you did the right thing by having her arrested, she'll have a record and won't be able to ever adopt an animal from the shelter. PRESS charges now, don't back down. AND then I 'd think about suing her............

Get the members of your pet club to deal with her. This innocent puppy has not done anything to deserve the abuse!!!
If possible inform your parent(s) and hers as well, cos both of you give people the impression of immaturity.
The dog deserves nothing but the best after this incident, if you don't see to that you could request for your friend to hit you then.

This doesn't sound like the type of friend that I would want to have. There is no reason to hit a dog, or child. When you talked to her what did she say the dog did that was so bad to cause physical harm to the dog? If I were you I would not have her watch my dog again. She doesn't sound like the responsible type, and she sounds like she is abusive to animals.
Find another friend. Good luck.

Sounds like you have taken care of the friend, but be sure to help your dog through this too, so his new fears don't escalate. Build up his confidence. Take him out in public and have people give him treats and affection. If he ever acts scared, do not baby him (!) or scold him (!). Ignore him while he is fearful and act confidently until he is calm, then you can pet him.

He will shortly forget the trauma. Give "Bosco" lots of love and attention. As for your friend keep in mind no one will normally take care of your pet as well as you do. Consider forgiving the friend but be hesitant to let them pet-sit again.
