I'm 5ft2 and 120lb. I'd like to lose about 5-10lb of fat and then gain about 5lb-10lb of muscle, so I stay at 120lb. Is it possible to gain this much muscle or would it be quite difficult? What sort of exercises and weight training would I need to be doing to build this level of muscle? TIA.

Their big mistake is focusing on cardio and not spending any time lifting weights and building muscle." But you don't have to spend hours in the weight room to make a difference. A 10-week study conducted by Westcott of more than 2,000 women found that those who participated in a simple twice-weekly workout (20 minutes of strength training and 20 minutes of aerobic exercise) not only shed 4 pounds of fat but also regained 3 pounds of muscle they'd lost during the aging process. It's fine to do just one set, but make sure the weight is heavy enough—your muscles should be fatigued to exhaustion after the 12th rep.

"Eat a lean diet of good protein, and lots of vegetables preferably steamed and cut out the bread for a while." Drink plenty of water and stop the sodas. And use low weight on the machines at the gym. No more than 25 pounds and less on some. Do high repetitions and 3 sets of each one. And always get at least thirty minutes of cardio. As far as what to do at the gym, buy some magazines such a Women's Fitness, and Oxygen. They always have workouts you can tear out and put in a binder and take with you until you get it down. I hope this works for you.

It would be difficult as all gaining muscle is but you can do it. Just work on lifting weights. You might wanna get a pass to a gym near you. 24 hour fitness? I go there, it's a nice place, at least the one i go to.

Well I'm kinda doing that right now..

What I can suggest you is.. Do alot of cardio to burn fat..

Lift weights and eat alot of protein food. I suggest this because when you do cardio you burn muscle mass and fat too.

So in order for you to maintain muscle mass and loose the fat you have to eat food with rich in protein.

You will see the result..

Good Luck!!

this would be a little hard because muscle weighs more than fat.
