Any memorable stories?

My fiance created a story of our relationship...the second to last page said "and although everthing seemed perfect there was one thing missing." And on the last page, "until one day the boy said to the girl 'will you marry me'." And he was on one knee and the whole bit. Think of what your relationship has been like, play on on spectacular moment or draw on things that she adores. Good luck!

My proposal rocked, but in the spirit of Yahoo Answers I give you permission to copy it in some way.

I thought my girlfriend was suspecting that I'd be popping the question soon, so I engaged in a massive disinformation campaign to throw her off track. Though I'd already designed and ordered the ring, we went ring shopping a week or two before the planned engagement "so I could get an idea what she liked."

Then, on the big day, a night out to celebrate our one-year dating anniversary, I built a hidden compartment in a much bigger gift box and put the ring there (because I thought she'd see it coming and check to see if I was, you know, sporting a ring box in my jacket pocket).

The box was large and I had it professionally gift-wrapped. The 'obvious' gift inside was a book she wanted. Under a false bottom was a 2nd gift, an iPod. Accessible only after unwrapping and through a flap at the bottom was a compartment that held the ring box.

So I give her the box, she unwraps and gets the book out. While she's looking at it, I hold the box and slyly remove the ring box from the secret flap underneath. Then I tell her, "Hey, there's more in the box." Eventually she figures it out. It's a new iPod. She plays with that a bit. When I have the ring box ready and I get the nerve up, I tell her to flip over the iPod. It's engraved (Apple does this for free if you order online.) It says "(her name) will you marry me?"

As soon as the recognition hits her face, I'm down on one knee with the ring in the traditional proposal stance.

She said yes. And quickly, too.

Funny thing is, she did not see it coming, so all the secrecy and what-not was for naught. But it made a good story.

i myself have never been proposed to but a good way is

in front of friends or family weirdly even at a night club would be more different then original. I am a person who likes all eyes on me...i was a only child. So getting the attention and the compliments after is great

When we were dating, my husband gave me a gift-wrapped box of Cracker Jacks for Valentine's Day. I friggin' hate Cracker Jacks. Anyway, I opened them, and he had taped an engagement ring into the little prize envelope inside the box. It is, I think, the sweetest and most unexpected thing he has ever done for me. Also, the scavenger hunt is a fun idea--local businesses are almost always willing to help.

I am recently engaged and agree that down on one knee is a must. Outdoors adds an element of romance too, especially in a beautiful setting. My fiance proposed to me on a deserted beach in the middle of the night. We were wading and he got down on one knee in the middle of the water fully clothed! It was beautful. Something unexpected and possibly outside of your comfort zone will help show how much you mean it.

My husband porposed in a rather cool way.. I've never been on a boat bigger than a waverunner. so he took me up on this boat that had three decks. the top was an open deck, well we passed by some rocks and the captain comes out and hands me a note. It said *name* will you marry me?.. I looked at the captain then at my husband, and hubby asked me if the boat was big enought to get married on.. I hugged him and kissed him.. 2 weeks later we got married on that same ship.... i'll never forget that proposal

Definately ask her dad first. (if he is a part of her life, if no ask her mom) Are there any activities that she likes?? A friend of mine just got engaged and her boyfriend took her to eat, he had the cook write will you marry me on the plate in icing around their desert.

take her outside on a starry night and say 'look at that beautiful star'. When she says 'which one?' point to the sky with the ring on your fingertip and say 'this one, will you marry me?' soooooo romantic ans original!!

Are there any hobbies or special places you share? It can be really fun if you're inventive and think of a way to make it something very unique and special for her.
