First of all let me ask that you go to a Doctor as soon as possible and talk with him/her.
Second, you are NOT a wast, worthless or a leech. God created you and He doesn't create junk.
Third, If you have a good Doctor who truly cares about practicing good medicine then they will listen to you. You may need to be admitted to the hospital for evaluation or they may choose to start you on some medication to treat the depression.
If the Doctor doesn't listen....then find another Doctor who will. Don't give up. You are a smart individual who obvioiusly is seeking help in overcoming something (depression) that effects many people everyday.
Good luck and keep me posted.

I've had drepression almost all my life. It is NOT your fault! It is a chemical imbalance in your brain and it is inherited. I tried suicide twice before I was diagnosed. There is no cure but there is help. You have to make the first move and see a doctor. Tell doc everything-no holding back. I also felt the same way you do now as do millions of others. No one knows the utter despair of depression but the sufferer. It's a fight every day of your life. You cannot let it rule your life any longer. Fight. I will take you before God in my prayers.

Ya, for sure he will think you are out of you marbles. But let me tell you, don't we all in time to time. You said you've been working for 3 years now. Hum, that is nothing, imagine when you've been working 20 years. I've been working for about now 23 years and I can't lie that I preferred to be home. But, if I stay home, who is going to support me, I don't want to be a parasite to others. Even though work doesn't sound fun, but it's what keeps you going, work is health, believe it or not.
The worse thing a person can think is, why I have to work? And when you wake up in the morning, the best way to fight laziness, is telling God, Thank you for waking me up. Because many don't have another day. You do, so be grateful with yourself, seek Jesus Christ and you will have a peace in your mind.

Go to the doctor they will prescribe you some medicine for depression and don't worry they won't judge you, they see people all day long that is depressed. The world is a hard place to live in these days so what you are going through is okay, just don't do any thing you will regret in the future. life will get better just try to stay positive.

To the person who suggested you drink, alcohol is a depressant - bad idea.
I suggest you go and get some tablets to help yourself over the initial hurdle of getting back on your feet. Then do what you need to do to change your life and tackle the cause of the depression. If I were doing nothing with my life, I'd be depressed too. The doctor can only help you so far. It's up to you to change.

Let's get together and drink sometime.
Actually, once you get a job and go to college and all that stuff you feel better about yourself because it makes you feel like you have a purpose. I was the same way when I left high school but now I have two jobs and go to college full time and year round so I feel much better. Drink a lot more though.

There is definitely something wrong. If you are feeling this way go to your family doctor and find a good therapist or have your family doc help you find one. I was feeling the same and seeing a therapist and drugs helped a lot.

Do not go to a family practice doctor. They will just give you a pill and send you home. If your symptoms have lasted more than a few weeks you need to see a social worker, counselor, phychologist or psychiatrist.
