Don't confuse yourself by saying "one text." The 'Holy Bible' was written by many people. And it was more than a thousand years from when the first parts were put in to the last. There are many versions of that "one text."

That's why you can read in Genesis about how God is a "jealous" God. And then read later that he is very compassioinate. And why Exodus says honor the Sabbath and keep it holy. And Jesus says, "I am the Sabbath. Honor me." One person feels that God wants us to pay attention to the Exodus line (e.g. Seventh Day Adventists), and another feels that what Jesus said was more improtant (e.g. Pentecostals)

You can see where issues can come up.

Because that text is truth and so the Evil One is desperate to counter it - and what better way than to spread false teachings. People of truth must then make a stand and the result is often schism.
There are many weak churches in the world because they neither know nor value biblical truth.

A lack of teachers learning the Bible in it's original languages. The English version is horribly translated. It allows for people to find anything they want to and ignore the rest if they choose. Steer away from any denomination and seek a teacher who teaches from the original languages.

In the Catholic and Orthodox Faiths, religion is not based solely on the Bible.

Also, The Bible is vague enough in many areas to allow for multiple interpretations.

It is just human nature! Every human, given the freedom, wants to have his/her own way. Religions, on the other hand, try to keep humans within cretain restrictions as discipline only can develop a person and lead to virtues for the betterment of the society. People, therefore, have tried in all ages to mould the religions to suit their objectives!

Like all religions, Christianity was started not by its original prophet, Christ, but by a bunch of religious zealots who called themselves Catholics who used His name to start an organized, ritualistic religion. After 2,000 years, they are still exploiting Christ and his sacrifice for their own narrow-minded rituals which they mistakenly call "religion".

Because of their intolerance, they created opponents who wanted their own beliefs to be followed, and this gave rise to different denominations of Christianity--e.g. the first break was in the 15th century when the English Kind, Henry started Church of England, because his divorce was not accepted by the Pope. Similary Luther started Protestant and Lutheran religion. This was to allow priests to marry and beget children, which Catholics would not allow.

There is no basic difference except in sacraments and rituals between different denominations.

The same way how Judaism and Islam has branched into many sects. Religion isn't hard 'fact', like math. It is mostly subjective opinion and people tend to form their own opinions, and soon each group only gathers around its own kind, etc.

Next thing you know they start fights and wind up killing each other, praise the lord and pass the ammunition.

Well...it's my theory that denominations matter not...

Only born again Christians will make it into heaven. Some will be Methodists, some Baptist, some Nazarene's, etc.

Their (different denominations) sometimes get caught up in religion. Sometimes, that can lead to legalism. As in you must do this...this and this. ((Rules and regulations.))

Jesus said, to love God Our Father first and foremost; then love one another as he has loved us. It's that simple!

Religion is man's way of reaching God.

Relationship is God's way of reaching man through Jesus Christ.

There is a huge difference.

Grace to you and God Bless!
