Find a way to make peace with these feelings. Why do you hate your cat? Because your mom loves it? Hm mm. Make friends with the cat, do nice things for it. Grow up.

Why do you have it if you 'hate' it? Is this because it seems to prefer your mom? A common and annoying trait among humans, I might mention: loving an animal or companion until it appears to prefer someone else. For some reason, cats very commonly elicit this kind of response. Just a word--like humans, cats are perfectly capable of loving more than one individual, so you really don't need to be all neurotic about it. If you don't feel you are having a good relationship with it, check how you first made its acquaintance, and how you currently relate with it. Although felines have been known to play dominance games, they really are not spiteful or malicious, so somewhere you've erred.
Bottom line, if you just can't stand the cat, leave it the h*** alone and let your mother enjoy it. But if, as it sounds to me, you're all conflicted about this issue, let me make a few suggestions.
1) Change how you relate to the animal. The easiest way to do that is to treat it as if you like it--gently and with due regard for its feelings. You aren't the only one who has them, you know.
2) Change your dominance-level. It's easy to do! Wait for the next time the cat meets your eyes, and hold its gaze. This is the important part! Calmly hold its gaze till it looks away, then glance away yourself. If you look away first, it will peg you as subordinate, and tend to treat you that way. If you're still looking after it has politely looked away, it will take this for hostility, which will just make you both miserable.
3) Realize that cats don't necessarily have to be dominant, but they hate being ranked submissive. The best way to relate in the 'eating order' with your cat is to be a larger equal.
4) Don't be a jerk, and your cat won't either.
If all this fails to bring you to a nice accomodation with the cat, why don't you think of moving out?

My brother in law hates one of my cats. Some of the things you can do is ignore the cat, don't yell at the cat, don't kick or hit the cat, when the cat is in your room, pick it up gently and put it outside your door and close your door. Do not say mean things about the cat like "I'm going to stuff it in the mircrowave if it doesn't shut up", these comments could upset your mother. (even though you may not actually do something like that)
You don't have to love your cat, but you need to respect your cat. Sometimes cats pick who they prefer to be with.

I would shave the cat. That way you have expressed your feeling towards the cat and your mother still has the cat she loves. You could also Super Glue it's tail to it's nose. Either would have the desired effect. Make sure you wear thick gloves when you shave the cat. Preferably leather ones.

Give it to your mom. Maybe when you move out, you could ask her to take care of it for you, then later make it an out right gift.
