Jesus was a human being and the circumstances prevalent in his time provided an opportunity for him to become popular. And, it has been passed on from generation to generation. One shouldn't attach too much importance to miracles and others attributed to him as here again such information is simply passed on from one to the other. In short, if you are in some trouble and you need help, he can't help you but you have to strive for success yourself! If you focus on your problem, you will be able to find a solution. It is that focused attention to something we call prayer and nothing more, nothing less! So, pardon me for saying in conclusion, TOO MUCH FAITH IN THE SO CALLED JESUS MAKES IT A MYTH!

Jesus is there in the Old Testament. It just doesn't call Him that.

Maybe you've heard the word Elohim. There's a reason why it plural. Because there's a plurality to God that makes the whole subject difficult for some to understand, and those that really know are quite sure that God's true nature, by reading the indications of the scripture, has eluded all so far.

You can see Jesus in Isaiah 53 (and 52), Pslam 22, Psalm 23, Psalm 24, Daniel 9, and many more.

There are also the types of Christ.

Jesus said:
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

He was the subject for salavation. That part of God that would take a form in human flesh, and provide that washing that men so intensely need.

Read Hebrews. If you are Jewish with a Jewish background, you might get a lot out of it.

He does

he is the word creating the world when God said LET THERE BE AND THERE WAS

he was the rock following the people in the dessert as it says in corinthians

he may have been the angel appearing to Joshua at Jerico who said take off your sandals your on holy ground, an odd thing for a mere angel to say

he may have been the angel in the fiery furnace that Daniels 3 friends were throuwn into

and in Danield God is given the eternal and final kingdom in chapter 3, but Daniel musta scratcjed his head when in chapter 7 he as a vision that the SON OF MAN comes with the clouds and is worshiped by all sorts of people form all over the world and given the eternal kingdom

This a very good question. I would add to that did God lied when he stated in the First commandment " Thou shalt NOT worship any Gods before me..." ? It is interesting to note that, the First commandment was not just an OT thing, it was revealed to all the prophets prior to that. None of them ever told about Gods other than the one and Only God. If Jesus was God then, he should have revealed himself to his creation from the outset, if he was hidden until the time of Jesus then he can't be God. Jesus is NOT God, he was a prophet.
There is no difference between Christianity today and Buddhism or any other pagan religion.

He did. The old Testament doesn't menton Him by name because He hadn't been born yet.
But He IS, WAS, and ALWAYS will be part of the holy Trinity. And I know this is difficult to understand. I know it makes no sense from a HUMAN stand point - but it DOES make sense to God. Isaiah 55:9 says that God's ways are not our ways. (just because it doesn't make sense to us - doesn't mean it isn't real. Also Matthew 19:26 says ALL things are possible with God.
If you don't understand refer to Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean NOT to your own understanding"

Read Genesis 1:26 God said Let US make man in OUR image.
Deuteronomy 6:4 "Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is ONE God.

There are many things I don't understand but I still accept them as truth.

While I do not agree with Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit as a family of Gods) ... Jesus did in fact appear in the Old Testament times.

Read the NIV (New International Version) Bible for clarity. Every instance of "the angel of the Lord" as opposed to "a" angel of the Lord.., was Jesus in his precarnate state - and was God's reflection, his very representative/representation.

No other angelic figure ever spoke as God nor accepted worship. This angelic figure was the first born of all God's creation and was as he (Jesus) is now - an exacting expressed image of God.

He was the Word - and he was God in the respect that God was seen through him and heard through him, although not physically God himself.

Jacob wrestled with God by proxy so to speak through this figure ("the" angel of the Lord). Abraham spoke to him when Jesus in his precarnate state, was going to Sodom and Gomorrah. He was the one who appeared as a flame of fire and the voice from the burning bush.

He does, just not by name. Whenever God appeared visually in the Old Testament, it was Jesus Christ. The Bible says nobody has ever seen God the Father. John 1:1 identifies Jesus as the creator as well.

The avatar of Jesus was simply prophesied as the Messiah. He had not been given a name yet. His body had not been made ready for Him. In the Old Testament, the piece that was Jesus was still part of God as a whole. God sent part of Himself down to be embodied as Jesus, apart but still God. This is also why Jesus refers to God as His Father and actually talks to Him. While on Earth, Jesus was just one piece of God.

The LDS believe that God of the OT was Jesus, not God the Father.
