HI FIRST of all you don't get lice from being dirty. My daughter went through hell with that for years now she's 18 and it is gone. It is enbedded in your carpet. If your kid plays with barbie dolls get rid of them they get in the hair. They get it from schools that have carpet in them. They get it from neighbors that have 3 or more children. It multiplies like nothing in this world. When I lived in Alabama it was terrible. For my advice move out of that old house you are living in or get rid of the carpet. Don't use cold water in your washing machine only hot water kills them. they get in your bedding and carpet. To get rid of lice you have to get rid of everything serious proof here. My daughter was tormented with it. They get in your vacuum cleaner. If you need any advice email me.

Yes you need to check all the campers and head lice is not something you are going to fix in a few days so each kid with head lice must be treated by the parents.
Treat the hair, wash all bedding and clothing in hot water, treat all rugs with bug spray and pick nits, pick nits, pick nits, pick nits after a week treat the hair again, wash all the clothes and bedding, spray the carpets, couches and everything with bug spray and keep picking nits till there are zero in the hair.
One egg left will start the cycle all over again.

Yes check all the campers, wash all the sheets and blankets and use a product called ridex to get the lice and eggs out of their hair. Make sure you follow the directions on the product specifically. You may have to do more than one treatment. Lice can be a pain to get rid of.

from experience i can advise you to get only Rid, the brand name of lice treatments, and use on that one child. i am one that uses generics on everything, but, generics don't work on head lice.
do it immediately, and pick the nits.
once i knew a camp that sent the infected child home. it was completely devasting to the child. the parents were livid.
i went through bouts of head lice probably about 4 times with my 4 daughters as they were in school growing up. everyone will tell you that they all have to be treated, but that was never the case with my girls. i treated the one girl, and the others were fine. (i checked them, of course)
washed her bed linens with hot water and bleach, and her clothes, etc.
if it was me, i think i would check them all, though, because how do you know there's only one? if it's going around in your community, it's going around. of course there are a lot of variables - how long is the camp, age of campers, type of camp.
bless your heart! :o}
tough call, good luck!!

YES! When I used to go to camp one year one person had lice and it got to EVERYONE. It was so bad that they ended up sending everyone home. It was awful. Don't let it get that bad. Check everyone!
