The slave traders in Africa were all muslims who sold the blacks to the new world, so why do blacks then follow their religion? Blacks instead take it out on the caucasion race whenever they have the time to discuss it. Why not blame the muslims who rounded them up in the first place and sold them out of Africa?

All blacks who join Islam (NOI) are not looking for God-they are joining a group that hates whites, America, and Jews, and Christians. Its a racist thing that they desire to be part of. No one can argue against that. it is a fact.

This is a very complex question that I hope you don't expect to ever truly answer.

The immediate answer is that the slave traders in Africa were a means to an end for slave trading companies. While you could fault the slave traders for their actions, history tends to remember those that caused the atrocity, not the people that were caught in the middle. Since those of Caucasian decent ran the slave trading companies, black Muslims tend to be outraged at them for the consequences of slavery.

A great book to read would be Roots by Alex Haley, which provides some insight into the motivations of slave traders. Although it is loosely based on the oral history of his family, it provides some historical context for the slave trade and general African culture.

I would also suggest that you do some additional reading around the history of the slave trade, African History, and the Muslim faith to ensure that you don't make any blanket statements regarding Black Muslims.

Blacks focus on whites on many issues becuase... in the past- our races have had a history of intolerance, hatred, abuse, rascim and so on etc. Whites are an easy target and the cause for many of blacks issues- the same way blacks cause many issues for white america. Its the sicken duality of american culture.

As for Blacks becoming muslim... Its more so because blacks were oringally muslim and in an effort to defy white america many biased blacks switch over to muslim as a kinda of pilgrimage to the roots of their heritage. I know that may be hard to understand from your point of view, yet it really isn't FOR you to undersand. kudos to you for your curiosity into black culture - thats more than my rednecks so-called friends friends have ever tried to understand.

You ask that question with a tone of animosity. Blacks don't FALL FOR MUSLIM they choose to be as you may choose to be "Insert Your Religion". Note: there were slave all across the globe. not just in africa- we are more so upset by the fact that it was done on such a large scale with no compassion for human rights- that is what is really sickening and pisses most blacks off. I'm over it but it can still get touchy at times.

Most people don't give blacks that much credit, looking back in history Blacks have contributed on such a large scale it CANNOT be ignored. With the civil war and Civil rights we set an example with America for other nations and made it possible for all human being to be treated fairly, world-wide. The intelligent Black doesn't blame anyone, If you feel that way, it would suggest you have some sort of guilty conconcious for what your ancestors did- Do not. Cause you have done nothing (or have you? - J/K) , There are however ignorant blacks- (the same as Ignorant whites, Ignorant latinos etc.) Those type of people, choose to harbor conservative views of reality and hold-fast to many of the ignorant ways of life. They can't help it they are who they are... the black and white issues are ancient, but an issue no the less. Why can't we all just get along... (if your interested see some of my other answer regarding racial issues it might help you feel a little better about understanding black people)

To be honest with you,the early black muslims like malcolm x and mohammed ali joined the nation of islam in america and became muslims just to not be christians which they thought is the religion of the white people who are the devils who enslaved them or bought them from africa.....they even thought that adam was black and mohammad(pbuh)was black(absolutely wrong beliefs)......this was until malcom x was enlightened by the fact that islam is a religion to all races when he went to makka for haj(pilgrimage)and saw the whites, blacks, reds and yellows all together...without any discrimination......but then ofcourse he was killed by his own sect because of spreading his new thoughts that all people of all races are equal....
and about the muslims who enslaved them earlier i'll tell you that at that time slavery was an ordinary thing in every nation(even though its wrong)and i dont mean by this that mohammad(pbuh)said okay to slavery infact he fought it and many of the early muslims at his time were slaves earlier to the pagan arabs.......but people and muslims got twisted from this much later and slavery was okay in many nations including the muslim ones.........but islam is a religion that says all people are equal...and the only thing that distinguishes them is the good from the bad...
most of the blacks who became muslims chose that because they found the answers to many of their questions and i mean by that the nowadays africans-americans...... becuase slavery and racism is much less today compared to the earlier times........
i myself am a black and a muslim but i was born a muslim and i'm happy and proud to be a muslim and a black.....
Peace......

I can't believe someone is touting Islam as a racially tolerant religion. Explain the racism that Pakistani's, Yemeni's and African Muslims experience in the Kingdom. Explain how Arab muslims, to THIS VERY DAY, practice slavery using Black muslims as slaves. It must be nice to be so very, very naive.

slavery were formed from captives who lost wars. In islam, the teaching is that one should treat his slaves as he treat himself, humanely.Of course, not with the fineries, but if one wish, it is encouraged, even to set them free for particular reasons. It would be foolish or impractical to gain captives, feed and pay them the same as your troops. When they regain enough power, they will subdue you.
With a question like this, one will be aware that islam is a practical religion. It's not only in slavery islam gain adherents, even the victors adapt islam like what the descendants of genghis khan did. They were first non muslims and annihilated the turks in their time, but why did they embraced islam.? It's the true practical way.

Islam is the most tolerant religion which denounce all sort of descrimination based on color region language culture.

The percentage of White Americans accepting Islam is way to high comparing to Black Americans. So why don't you ask why these White Americans are accepting Islam?

urm, how sure are you that they were muslims? and around that time, wasnt the West colonizing African coasts? They blame the caucasion race because tey didnt exactly give them freedom after they came to America, instead they treated them worse.

lies

Islam recognizes no man-made artificial distinctions based on color, tribe, race, nationality, or otherwise. As all people come from the original couple-Adam and Eve-they are all one family and therefore equal before God

. What distinguishes people from each other is their commitment to Islam: "The most honored in the sight of Allah is (he who is) most righteous." (Qur'an 3:86).

how do you know that the people in Africa were all Muslims, they had their own customs and traditions before organized religion was brought to them, they knew of a "god" but not necessarily one in any literature of today.
why would you even go there?
