In no part of the bible does Jesus condemn homosexuality. So much for ""christianity"" being the teachings of jesus. Also when judas kissed jesus there was no acount of jesus backing away so he must have been accustomed to that sort of thing.

Well if you honestly look at Grace in Christian theology. Whether or not you are a Homosexual is meaningless. Just believe in Jesus and you are saved, all humans are sinful and cannot be righteous. And as Martin Luther says:

"God does not work salvation for fictitious sinners. Be a sinner and sin vigorously.... Do not for a moment imagine that this life is the abiding place of justice; sin must be committed."

Well, first of all, kissing is cultural, and it being a sexual gesture is very much a North American thing. That being said, I agree with you. The bible condemns homosexuality in the old testament, but in those days it was a very different thing; it had a lot more to do with promiscuity and nothing about two consenting adults entering into a loving relationship. I believe that we are born with our sexual orientation, and that it is a tendancy very much like handedness. I'm lefthanded and straight, and I didn't pick either one. God made me that way, as He makes everyone, and He doesn't make mistakes, so he must create gay people as gay. I also believe he loves us all equally, and he really does love us.

It's not for us to judge. Our job is to love and accept each other. Rather than worrying about things like who falls in love with whom, which really is pretty inconsequential, we should be looking at the words of Jesus and taking care of the larger problems facing us.

>>>In no part of the bible does Jesus condemn homosexuality<<<

That's because He was a practicing Jew, and the Jewish Scripture clearly condemns it, and there was no need for Jesus to state the obvious.

Jesus also never specifically condemns pedophilia, bestiality, or peeing on your next door neighbor's living room floor.

Does that mean that these things are all okay to do?

Jesus went to a wedding of a man and a woman therefore he bless that union in marriage and bible doesn't say he went to a homosexual wedding which it is unnatural and an abomination unto him! The Jews customs is to greet it other with a kiss and there is that same customs in other nationalities. Don't get It twisted to justify abominable ways of living.

well, i'm not saying this against homosexuality (i have lots of gay friends), or against the whole bible thing (cause i never read it), but the whole kissing thing....
many cultures kiss as a greating, one cheek or two or i've even seen on the lips if the people are close (even when its two of the same gender). its a cultural thing in this case i think too, i think the story you're talking about isnt like a kiss like "i want my tongue down your throat" kinda kiss, just more of a salutation.

but like i said, since i havent read the bible, i might be wrong on that one

i remember some one quoting from bible, with ref. to another q. that homosexuality is considerd a sin. you may discuss these doubts with anexponent of bible, or a learned priest, to clarify. we should also find out about the references in other religions to homosexuality.
in the famous epic mahabharata, there are all sorts of interesting refernces, like draupadi, the princess who had be a wife to all five brothers, or the eunuchs in the queen's parlours, and a distinct ref. to the close relationship of two girls, the subordinate one called sakhis, sort of cofidantes, but no explicit mention reg. homosexuality, and the ethical ban attached to it religiously !

I tried to use this argument too. Yes - it does say in some translations 1Cor 6:9

If you read some of the Gnostic stuff - Jesus says of turning Mary into a man to enter heaven.

i still believe that the Old Testament is God's word too. There were other prophets and apostles that wrote some strong stuff about sexual immorality... homosexuality included.

Leviticus

18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination

20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them
