Schools do not require social security numbers. They require proof of where you live and perhaps a birth certificate. As a matter of fact, the lunatics at the Supreme Court ruled that the children of illegal immigrants CANNOT be denied access to public schools. They found it to be a constitutional right.

Well, the dilemma can't be simply blamed on just illegals.
In my community it goes like this. Say you are an illegal and want to put your kids in public school. They won't ask you for a social security and do you know why? Because for every student they receive, they get funds from the state.
So, they want as many students, legal or illegal, as possible, for that means more $$$ for their school district.....More $$$ means bigger and more modern schools, more equipment, computers, sports equipment etc.
So, to me, the public school system needs complete reform and to purely blame illegals is erroneous....
In the meantime, my property taxes just keep going up and up....And when I drive around my neighborhoods, I see beautiful, very modern high schools. It is very frustrating to see this, I dont even have children, but I have to pay into a system that is killing me financially. My parents are retired and live on limited income. They can't afford paying such high property taxes anymore.....

They have a social security number. Immigrants, whether legal or not, often share a social security number with someone else who has been to this country, and since left.

What extra do you assume from the ACLU - don't realize why our tax money help this bunch of radicals! i imagine NO mexican toddlers might want to be allowed in our colleges - a good party 10 years in the past California had the #a million colleges contained in the u . s . now after the inflow of each and every of the illegals they're thirty eighth! The illegals are the very reason Bush keeps talking about importing mathematicians & scientist - it is not any longer because American toddlers are stupid it is because they're taught to the psychological factor of mexicans extremely than the psychological factor of an American toddler! Our authorities might want to be very proud!

Schools do not ask for proof of citizenship from students, look into it some more, you'll probably get a lot of racial motivated answers, even though everyone says illegal immigration is not a racial issue.
