I've tried all brands and varieties of these types of breads (pillsbury, store brands, ect.) and they all seem to have the same odd flavor. Do the new Pillsbury frozen (bagged) breads have it as well?

I haven't noticed that from any variety of canned biscuits. Have you tried frozen biscuits? I don't know if you can get them where you are, but here in the south, Mary Bee's frozen biscuits are the ticket!

There's no odd flavor to them. Unless you want to make your biscuits & breads homemade, these refrigerated breads & biscuits are it. Check the date on the tube cans before you make them too. An out of date product can change & cause the flavors to change too due to the yeast in the bread & biscuits. Always try to purchase them with the furthest date out, usually middle of the following month if possible. All use by dates are rotated to the front of the shelves with the ones expiring soonest to sell before they expire. I learned this the hard way after purchasing milk on sale that was set to expire in 4 days. I'd purchased a gallon & there was no way it'd be drank that fast. What I do now is pull the front gallons out & search towards the back for the ones with further out dates.

I love the new Pillsbury frozen (bagged) biscuits they taste as close to homemade as I've seen. I know homemade because my mama always made her biscuits from scratch. These are really close in taste. I was pleasantly surprised and will never go back to can biscuit again. Give them a try.

I don't know about frozen bagged breads, but I do know that the canned biscuits have a bitter taste to them, so I stopped buying them, and I now make my bread from scratch!

They definitely taste different than homemade or even store-bought. I've tried a couple of different types and found they had the same taste. It might have something to do with whatever ingredients they use or the refrigeration.

Step away from the counter and turn your head away. I have a jar of Chicken Gravy on the pantry shelf and can bring it over, if you wish. Buscuits and gravy are made for each other.

Yes they do...The reason they taste odd is from the preservitives(sp?) they put in the bread....That's why ur just better off just making ur own.....

yes!!!!! What is that taste and what is causing it? Other brands like Duncan Hines do not have that taste in their cakes like Pillsbury and Betty Crocker.
