Honey I wish I knew, some people are just mean and cruel, I keep hoping that they get treated the same way they treat their animals, we need to lower the standards for the burden of proof, for the cops that investigate cruelty, give these rotten people the same treatment they gave to the animal

Some of the answers that seem cruel to those of us that love animals in general, and our pets in particular; are supposed to be jokes-- definitely sick jokes, but jokes. For the people that think this kind of thing is funny; just learn to ignore it, although it is difficult to do so. The sad thing is that some of these same people treat other people and sometimes children with the same disregard. It is just a bad part of the human experience. I actually found kittens dumped on the side of the road in a plastic bag one day when I was taking my dog to be groomed at a local shelter. The kittens were dumped not 50 yards from the shelters front door, we were able to save some of them, but not all and it still breaks my heart to think about it; and this was 15 years ago. It was probably a good thing that I did not see them get dumped, or the police would've been involved, I would have reported the license plate as soon as I had gotten to a phone-no cell phone then! We can only hope that the highest percentage of this type of crappy comment is a sick joke. Have a good day!

Well, some ppl don't think about having a big dog or cat when they get cute pups and kittens. They don't think about having such an animal for 12-17 years more or less when it is in the pet shop looking sweet and cute wagging its tail or meowing at you. Unfortunately having a pup or kitten is like having a kid...they don't always turn out like we think they will.....its work and responsibility and some people just don't want it. Some people make bad parents and bad pet owners. Spay and neuter your pets,please. I wish there were more astringent ways of screening pet owners so the pets could be always in loving and safe environments but alas, we don't live in a perfect world.:(

these people at the start are full of good intensions but when the reality sinks in they cannot cope with whats needed to look after a pet.

in all honesty i have no idea.
i think it's all about education, most people are educated to thinks animals are things and not living creatures. that makes it easy for them to treat them badly.
when i was little we had a dog(she died three montes ago) i remember one time she did something and my dad not being happy about it he kicked her in the butt she gave out such a heart breaking cry, i remember promising myself at that second to never be cruel to animals, i am glad to i have never broke my promise, it is no longer a promise but a way of life.

because they get pets to keep them company and when they don't want them they have to do something with them and they can only sell pure breed cats and it wouldn't make sense to give away cats and have only 1 there

The only reason they have pets is to torture them and hurt them. They think it is fun and a very happy thing to do. They are freaking sickos. I would never hurt any animal in my life. NEVER.

because they are mean, irresponsible and they don't care about a soul who can't speak for its own. so sad. I wish they could be a lost kitten in a big city, just for one day, and see how it is.
