Depending upon the school system:
Southern Schools End Of May to Early August.
Northern Schools End of June to Early September
Year round schools Month of July.

Some American children are. Other's go to year round schools where they get a month break every 3 or 4 months. My niece will be getting her "fall break" middle of August to mid September.

No, are summer breaks are not the same. My summer this year lasts between June 9-August 23, basicallly a 3 month break. I have a friend from England and he only get August off and a bit of september? I think he said it was 6 weeks.
all in all we don't learn as much as you guys! =)

I love how UK (and Austrailians) call vacations holidays!!!
My kids are out the start of June and go back the end of August but have a quick little break after that for Labor day.

Yes. Most schools are out from the end of May/beginning of June, until the end of August/beginning of September.
