Tylenol cold medicine is the bomb. Use really soft tissue on your nose so it doesn't get irritated and red.

There is no cure for the common cold because it is a virus which is constantly mutating. However, there are plenty of treatments.

If your nose is constantly running, you can try a decongestant. Most of them have the same ingredients, try a few to find one that works. At night, something like Nyquil works wonders, helping you sleep as well as treating your symptoms.

In general, if your nose is running a lot, just use as gentle a tissue as possible and try not to rub your nose any harder than is absolutely necessary. This will help with redness and soreness.

It sounds strange in this modern age, but we do not have a cure for the common cold. You have to let it run its course, and all we can do is treat the symptoms.

Any over the counter decongestant can help with the runny nose, but check the label, because some can make you drowsy. Different drugs work for different people. For example, Contact pills work great for other people, but don't do a thing for me. You have to try different medicines until you find one that works well for YOU.

A nose usually becomes red through the irritation of wiping it too much from handkerchiefs to tissues. But your drugstore most likely sells moisened tissues that are less irritating and should help prevent redness.

Outside of medicines, chicken soup really does help. And hot tea mixed with honey does a great job making your throat feel better. In general, drink LOTS of fluids to wash away the toxins produced by your body, and get lots of rest, because this is when the body most actively works to restore itself to health.

Hang in there & get well soon!

Well, that's a two part answer...

You can't really stop your nose from running, it's a symptom of the cold.. you can relieve it though by taking some OTC meds, like cold-eez, or Tylenol cold.

And, for the red nose, go buy some Kleenex with Lotion in them... they're very easy on the nose..

Just deal with it.....there's no way to stop it and you wouldn't want to anyway. Your nose running is away your body is getting rid of the virus or bacterica. It's a natural defense that helps the body cure the cold.

the only thing you can do is take a medication that will treat your symptoms. this will help your runny nose and then you don't have to wipe as much so, less redness. Time is the only cure.

I think its just part of the fun, red noses usually heal quite quickly as the cold disappears though.

Not much you can do about it apart from pump yourself full of Vitamin C etc. As for the red nose - don't buy that cheap tissue rubbish, go for the proper brand name's which have balm on them

Walk around on yuor hands all day.

Remove the rubbers off the back of pencils and jam them up your nose.

Of course, medically, you could use 'Contac'. They take a while to get going but they work brilliantly. Also try some Chloraseptic if your throat is sore.

lol, my husband shoves toilet paper in his nose so it doesn't run. He looks like a moron when he does it, but it works. Use soft tissue to ease the redness.
