Why are you asking such an idiotic question?
Do you realize that a child is more likely to be molested by a family member than by anyone else? 26% of children molested are molested by their fathers. Less than 1% are molested by a priest.
The bigger question is why does anyone feel the need to molest children? Teachers, police officers, firemen, Rabbi's, Protestant clergy, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters. . .

I don't like the fact that you generalized and said that priests do that, because my father is a priest and would never and have never done anything like that. (He's not a catholic priest). These men are people that have serious problems that need to be worked out, they just happen to be Catholic priests. I also think that it is often very easy for them to get away with it because there is that trust that people have in priests, and people can be manipulated by some priest. For instance they may say, I'm your priest and I'm not here to hurt you (I don't know some crap like that). Anyway, if someone accuses a priest of rape it's harder to believe than if someone next door was accused.

First of all, it's not a case of "all these priests" doing this.
Research tells us that a) priests are no more prone to do it than other men, b) most cases of priests molesting kids happened many years ago, and c) only 21 of America's 42,000 priests had an accusation made against them last year.
The vast majority of child molesters are not Catholic priests, and the vast majority of Catholic priests are not child molesters.
Check the national registry of sex offenders, and you'll find few if any Catholic priests on there. Or any clergy of any other kind, for that matter.
Having said that, it's true that one priest molesting a kid is one too many. We expect more than that from priests.
As you said, most of the victims have been boys -- at least 80%, in fact.
But most of them have not been LITTLE boys. Most of them have been older boys, past the age of puberty.
This makes it a problem of homosexuality -- not, as the media kept calling it, a "pedophilia" problem.
If you have a young son, then it's a fact that he would be far safer in the company of a priest than in the company of, say, a public-school teacher or a camp counselor.
Those groups are far more likely to molest kids than priests are -- but since those groups don't oppose abortion, gay marriage, and the other pet causes of the secular media, they never get the ink for it. Only the Catholic priests do.

That's warped thinking on your part.
Raping little boys and little girls are both extremely wrong and sick. Absolutely no connections with the bible and affections towards women and men.
Priests are more likely to have access to little boys due to less attention and caution by their parents and the Church. The Catholic Church does not allow 'altar girls' and thus limit any errant priests from such temptations.
There are good priests and there are errant priests, just like there are good and bad people. We are all human, although we naturally expected priests to set better examples for all (and maybe a little unfairly, be superhuman compared to the rest of the flock?).

This hasn't anything to do with The Bible. These men are evil and they saw the priesthood as a way of having easy access to boys and on the surface looking like a good person - causing children and their families to be all the more vulnerable. The church's protection and hiding the problem only caused it to become much worse. I don't know how Cardinal Law or any of these other "leaders" slept at night as they moved pedophiles to one new parish after another with those most innocent victims. I am further bothered that many Catholic people I know say they "don't think about it". That is NOT what Jesus would do! He would go in the "temple" and raise holy hell about it!

There are a few bad priests that have made the entire lot look bad. Celibacy does not breed child molesters. Anyone who would spout that kind of ignorance should go do their homework. These people were sick before they became priests and found it easier to give up women because they weren't interested in women. It is not all priests. Plus, easy access to children.
The Catholic Church received a lot of attention because they are a church, plain and simple. Also, because priest have CHOSEN (NOT FORCED) to live a life of celibacy, when they decided to become priest. Please check out another question I have answered if you need more information. I doubt you close minded ignorant idiots will. You all make me sick. How dare you look down on the Catholics! Not all priests are child molesters.

It's the Catholic thing that gets to them. Let me explain. Priests have to be males that have never had sex and they can't be married. In the Bible, Paul wrote that being single should be done by everyone but that he understood that if you lust, you are better off being married. Basically, if you have a problem with lust, you should get hitched. Apparently, the Catholics like to make their priests remain single even if they struggle with that sin. Why do they choose the boys over the girls? Probably because there are Altar Boys but no Altar Girls.

Well the preists you hear about join the Catholic Church Priesthood to hide their gay lifestyle. They know it's wrong sothey hide it this way by joining since priests are not allowed to marry I do believe. The chuech does not know that these people are homosexuals and or child molesters and therefor how is it the church's fault? For instance if McDonald's hires a serial killer and there is no record of it how should McDonald's be liable for this man's doings? No at all.. Maybe priests feel that a male is not seen as a sin so they have sex with them... Boys are just easier to get to.
I also think that they hide behind the whole holy character.
Nevertheless, there's no question that this has become a serious problem that should be addressed.
