Good question. But I think many people tend to forget that during those times the people were very... um... stupid. They lacked the intelligence we love to brag about today. All they saw was nature and had to come up with some explanation why the river flooded and killed their neighbor... obviously the neighbor was bad and God punished him.

He revealed the truth to the first man He created.

Islam is one of the oldest recorded religions, if not THE oldest recorded religion.

Don't display your ignorance.

It was the oldest religion, but shortly after the flood (or the Tower of Babel) people started getting afraid of manifestations of nature and started worshipping nature gods. As they became civilized, their mythology got more complex, and was written down. Only the Hebrews got a revelation and went back to original monotheism.

religion is man's doing ---(note all the different beliefs/denominations)

Hate to break it to you but every culture believed in the Creator - the widespread denial of the spiritual is a modern thing

As for God, and I assume you are referring to the Christian God, that is an innacurate portrayal of the Creator in order to justify their own agenda.

You aren't the first person to wonder this. I don't think there is a good answer for this one. Talk to your local clergy if you are Christian. If you are an atheist than you don't believe anyways and you are just trying to get the Christians riled up.

The concept of God, the God of Abraham, stretches back to the beginning of time and creation. He did it and existed before that. How much further back do you need to go?

In fact there isn't anything which probes which religion was first... Remember that Jew religion coexisted with the ancient Egypt religion.

Dude. Don't try logic. You'll fail. Fundies don't need silly things like 'facts' or 'evidence' to show how God always existed.
