The staff at the store will be able to tell you. There's a calculation...I just can't remember it. You could google it as well, I'm sure it's there. Btw, congrats!

Found one!

My husband and i did a hosted bar for the first two hours. Then we had free keg beer. Our guest list was about 350 and the bar tab about $600.
This can depend on the cost of alcohol were you live also. Some areas are cheaper. I would discuss all of your options with the reception site manager. If you are holding it in a private location with your own bartender then I would suggest keg beer and three cases of wine. A white, a red, and maybe a champagne for the toast. When it is gone it is gone. But two kegs should.
Relax have fun and congrats!

We had 110 guests and we had 1 keg of beer, 3 (1.75 L) of rum, 2 (1.75 L) of whiskey, 2 (1.75 L) of vodka, 1 (1.75 L) of gin, 3 each of those big jugs of white wine, red wine, and blush wine. And we had some left over. There is a website that can help you: www.evite.com. But, I didn't think their calculations were accurate. Go to a liquor store and they should help you. If you buy it all close to the wedding, you can return unopened bottles afterwards. And don't forget sodas, juices, and other mixers. We had coke, sprite, diet coke, gingerale, tonic, orange juice, pineapple juice, grapefruit, and cranberry. And I don't know how the other person spent $4,000 on alcohol for 150 people. We spent less than $1,000 and we bought cheap wine, but good liquor. Good luck!!

a lot but a good trick is to buy cheap beer and if they want anything else they can purchase it at the bar... this also helps you because the benifits will go towards your honeymoon :)

ive seen plenty of weddings do this and most of the time if you tell the guests that the proceeds from the bar go to the couple they will buy more :)

good luck and congrats

Tell the guests to bring their own booze. You could put a downpayment on a house for what it would cost to supply alcohol for 300 people.

Wow girl, 300 peopl, I'd die lol. Buy alot..you want to buy a variety mix of alcohol like wine, juice, beer, hard liquor...maybe 10 bottles each with wine and hard liquor.. and like 5 kegs of beer or something. Juice like.. something to mix with hard liquor. You dont want to overdo it in case those people don't drink you know. You dont want them to go out drinking and driving and end up gettin hurt.

well that depends on the crowd, and age of the crowd.Usually I would get 2 kegs of beer and reserve another.A case or two of wine, and 3 bottles of schnapps for the Brides $ dance.A couple fifths for the guys. 6 bottles of champagne for the toast,a couple of non-alcoholic sparkling juice for the younger ones involved in the toast.other than that your just getting soda and juice.

Think.. if you have about 300 people, and you want them all to have about 3 glasses of wine, that would be about 900 glasses of wine. A wine bottle holds 5 glasses of wine, so you would need about 180 bottles of wine for all those people.

Jeez that is a tough one. A good rule of thumb is to get a 12 pack of beer for each gust. Then a case of all of the major liquor groups. What ever you do don't forget to get the liquor accessories (i.e. grenadine, fruit juices, mixes etc). Then of course you will need to get wine and champagne too.
