Why does he do this? I need some help with this one.He eats well, gets sunlight, gets occasion tub baths, flea treatments, treats and lives a fat lazy life of a cat with a cute little girlfriend at his side and all their toys and beds cluttering the house. But he continues to yank hard at his fur intentionally yanking turfs of it out at a time.

My brother's cat does this. The vet said it's nerves. He moved into a home that used to have a dog and the cat was freaking out because he could smell the dog but couldn't find it. The cat also chews himself when he's visiting at my mom's (my dad and brother went on a fishing trip last week, so the cat stayed w/my mom).

Your cat has psychological issues. It's similar to the way that some humans are: sometimes the most endowed and fortunate people are the unhappiest of all. The same is true for domestic animals. You should definitely take your cat to the vet-he/she will probably refer you to a pet psychologist.
