Why do people say there so many flaws in the Bible but believe in evolution. Most of the flaws in the Bible are verses taken out of context and things changed in translation.

Types of evoltution believed:
1. Cosmic evolution- the origin of time, space and matter. Big Bang.
2. Chemical evolution- the origin of higher elements from hydrogen.
3. Stellar and planetary evolution- Origin of stars and planets.
4. Organic evolution- Origin of life from inanimate matter.
5. Macroevolution- Origin of major kinds.
6. Microevolution Variations within kinds- Only this one has been observed, the first five are religious. They are believed, by faith, even though there is no empirical evidence to prove them in any way.

Yet evolution is just a theory. Peole believe that all 6 forms of evolution have been proven because of evidence for micro-evolution.

This deception is a classic case of bait and switch. One definition of evolution (such as “descent with modification”) is given and the others are assumed to be true by association. The first five meanings are believed by faith, have never been observed and are religious. Only the last one is scientific. It is also what the Bible predicted would happen. The animals and plants would bring forth “after their kind” in Genesis 1.

The Bible contains quite a few errors, if taken literally. It is clearly wrong about the origin of the world, as it claims that the world was created (in a couple of days!) by some supernatural being. That's clearly false. It's silly, in my opinion, to detail Biblical errors, but there are clearly quite a few of them.

Evolutionary theory is correct in general, and because it's based in science, it is continually correcting its details. The other kinds of evolution you mention are also all the current best understandings of what they claim to explain.

The comment that "the first five meanings are believed by faith" is simply false - they're based in quite a bit of observational evidence. The comment that they "are religious" is false for the same reason.

Macroevolution IS microevolution, and a source that claims that a separate explanation is required for macroevolution is a source that does not understand biology.

The first respondent says that you got this from Kent Hovind. If so, you should know that besides being a professional liar (with respect to evolution), Hovind is also a tax cheat:

(from the source below, July 14th, 2006)
" A Pensacola evangelist who owns the defunct Dinosaur Adventure Land in Pensacola was arrested Thursday on 58 federal charges, including failing to pay $473,818 in employee-related taxes and making threats against investigators.

Of the 58 charges, 44 were filed against Kent Hovind and his wife, Jo, for evading bank reporting requirements as they withdrew $430,500 from AmSouth Bank between July 20, 2001, and Aug. 9, 2002."

If you honestly want to understand the origin of the world you need to choose your sources more carefully.

There is plenty of evidence to support the Big Bang theory. This theory need not conflict with what the Bible says at all. All it says is that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. It does not tell us the process that he used. Remember that the Bible is not exhaustive, but it is complete. We have everything in it that we need to know, but it doesn't not contain everything that we could know. There are elements of evolution that would not conflict at all with the Bible due to its vague accounts of creation. Only we humans would assume that when God created everything that it was instantly. It could have taken billions of years. Scientists can explain the origins of the universe all the way back to 10(-43) seconds, or right after the big bang. Our science has no way of explaining what preceded that. I think that is fantastic. To me, it proves beyond a doubt that God initiated the process by means that we cannot measure! Don't reject science completely. Then you will be narrow minded and will refuse to hear things that may actually boost your faith. Plus, it is important to understand what you are trying to refute.

To the angry person below me... The first five books of the Bible weren't written until the time of Moses, hence God is always referred to as Jehovah or Yahweh... idiot!

I am not sure i've hear of all the listed forms of evolution. I will make an effort to investigate them. I believe science tries to explain where we come from. Different ideas are developed, and the most logical and supported idea is put forth. If an idea is later found to be wrong it can be modified or thrown out. People will never modify or throw out the Bible if they think it's wrong, so I accept science and Darwin's Theory of Evolution as being more accurate because it is open to challenge and up to date.
Sure evolution is just a theory, but then again...so is gravity.

Yet evolution is just a theory. Peole believe that all 6 forms of evolution have been proven.

First, I'm not sure who "people" are who believe these have been "proven". I guess this is just your shortsighted generalization. People believed that it had been proven that the earth was flat and at the center of the universe. But that changed, didn't it?

You see grasshopper, theories are just that. They are proposed based on observation and experimentation and they evolve (oh, dirty word) as new science is learned. Scientists are glad to see theories evolve because it moves us toward the ultimate truth.

Wish it were true for all philosophies, even the deceptive ones...

You answered you own question with on word, "translation". King James gathered the best scholars of the time, 40 of them, to translate from the Greek and Hebrew into the English language. The words best suited at that time is what went into the Holy Bible, KJV. Because there is differences between the Greek, Hebrew and English languages, there will always be someone question what the Bible really says or means. The thing is, if a person does not know God or walks with the Lord, he will not understand what the Bible says. If a person does not know the Lord, his views on the Bible will be of a "natural man".

One could argue that the bible is also "just a theory"...
A piece of paper, written by humans, just the way scientific papers are produced daily.
I personally believe that 2000 years ago, people just wanted answers to so many unexplained things, just like we do now.
But until not so long ago, you couldn't talk science to anybody without being branded as a complete nutcase (or evil wizzard). But an almighty God... yeah, we can believe for that, gotta be....

Okay, there is much more logical thought and reason for believing that those theories are real, even some minor evidence that may eventually lead to proofs, than there is that some cosmic deity snapped his fingers and took nothing and made something out of it. Making people out of dirt eh? Creating light and it was good. Uh huh.

Hmm, flaws in the Bible...
I suggest a book by Bart D. Ehrman, "Misquoting Jesus" The Story Behind Who Changed the Bible and Why.

Evolution is a Faith. They believe in the unseen occurance by what they refer to as evidence.

The substance that they hope for, without having seen it.

That's Faith.

Many who are of that persuasion are in denial about the fact that they must have faith to believe what they believe.

They have to convieniently call what they believe fact to avoid admitting to having a faith. And so the fruit of their denial of the truth is perpetuated in a lie.

That's sin. It's the nature of sin. Where you start on the path of any kind of sin, and eventually start becoming a slave to it. You begin to convince yourself that it's right.

Even the sixth form can get messed up. An example is in when we try to breed domestic animals for a specific purpose and they wind up with physical defects. Everybody knows a mutt is usually smarter than a purebred.

We'd better leave "after their kind" to God and stop trying to do it for Him.
