Is that what people mean by FAITH?

Well, these are some link discussing them:

Still lots more to go.... just read that. It's just the beginning. It's TOTALLY clear that most of you haven't REALLY read your own holy book. It's dangerous to have a blind belief like that....

For your all information, I BELIEVE IN GOD 100% !!! What makes me ashamed is people out there, who claimed they're religious but doing inhuman act... IN THE NAME OF GOD!!! I even doubt that they all ever study about their very own holy book. Just because they're taught that "...this book is holy. It's from GOD itself. It's all word of GOD. ACCEPT that! Don't even think to doubt it!!", they never even read the book! They just accept that as "faith". I don't see that as faith. I see that as BLIND BELIEF, and it's not a good act as the disciple of GOD... Why can't we all just humble and honest to ourselves that our holy book is not perfect, it's not that sacred actually? There WERE and ARE rooms for improvement, if we all truly open-hearted to accept that. Please, consider this at least for a while before blaming and condemning me as blasphemous....

Religious people rarely, if ever, read their entire scripture. They take a selective read & selective interpretation of that read, and then stick to it.

For those who insist that there are no flaws in the bible, it says that bats are birds, pi=3.00, and rabbits chew the cudd. Oh, and according to the bible, Joseph (jesus' 'father') had two different fathers, which is a neat trick.

I can tell you that the Bible is the inspired word of God.

I'm not about to say that it is perfect. It does not need to be perfect. God is able to use people to communicate His will. In this case with writing.

Those that wrote the Bible are no more perfect than you or I am. But the message that is contained: priceless.

So those ( and there are many) who think that the bible is the ierrant word of God) they might be part of what's confusing you. I say that the Inerrant Word of God sat down at the right hand of the Father.

The reason why so many people believe in the Bible, I believe, is because God chooses to reveal Himself to some people. Some of the other people that He did not reveal Himself to He either hasn't done so yet, or He doesn't want.

I wrote a series of letters to a local newspaper about "Bible Accuracy". Many errors and contradictions are mentioned in a textbook for two courses in Bible I took in college and in a book Billy Graham sent me. The book from Graham says the Bible says Judas died from hanging and from falling and that a prophecy made by Zechariah was credited to Jeremiah, among other things. The Bible textbook says the earliest account of David's census says Yahweh inspired it, but verses written after the Persian Captivity blame the Satan for it. Zoroaster of Persia invented a cosmic war between Ahuramazda and Ahriman. Hebrews copied Ahriman and called him Lucifer. Before this, Yahweh sent both good and evil, e.g. hardening Pharoah's heart in Exodus. If that was retold after the Persian Captivity, the Devil would do that. How can anyone who is objective say that the Bible is flawless? The books mentioned list many flaws. I can give only a small sample of the letters I wrote about this subject.

Have you read the entire Bible? Or just heard from someone else?
There are no errors in the Bible unless they were put there by man. Which God will judge this!

You have not shown any form of error to back you up. Scientists, Literature professors, people as such etc have read the Bible (believers or not) and have said the Bible does not contradict itself...not even once!

How many times have you read the Bible? I have read it 3 times and find no errors. Some who never read it claim that just to stir up contraversy. Others simply don't understand it because they won't read it. You can't do a book report on a book you have not read. Still others say that, because they don't want to believe they are sinners and look for a way to get around the Word.

There are no ERRORS/FLAWS in the BIBLE my dear. The Word of God cannot have ERRORS/FLAWS because it is inspired by the HOLY SPIRIT. God is the creator of all things and in as much as He is the creator of all things, He cannot make mistakes in whatever His is doing. May I use this opportunity to advice u to be reading your BIBLE always so that you will understand fully well what the Word of God is all about. Finally, FAITH is a supernatural gift of God which makes us to believe without doubting whatever God has promised/revealed and believing in the Word of God is LIFE.

Not all do, many read for the message. For example, a flood that crested above Mt. Everest is impossible. Also, if the story of the flood was not in the Bible, would it change my faith. Not at all, in fact, it would have made it easier. Hmmmm! If so, then what is the purpose. To me, the most important message was the fact Noah listened to God, he discerned what He would have him do. Noah discerned God's plan for him and did it, regardless of what other's thought. If there was a local flood, he may have in addition, saved his family.

So what Ark did God place you on earth to build? Pray about it and then put all your heart and soul behind it.

There is no error in this message.

I'm not sure of the specifics of your question, but some of the things that I've noticed in the Bible don't really seem to add up logically, but I believe that the 'general idea" of the subject, lesson etc. speaks for itself. It tells a story, gives basic guidelines, and remember all of this took place many hundreds of years ago. Some of the lessons etc seem a little "off" or not accurate is do to the time frame, besides it is the basic subjects theme is the lesson to be learned.

I think you should be more specific about "errors/flaws" that you see in someone's religion if you're going to condemn all faiths

And what about the flaws of atheism? such as...
(1) the beginning of the universe
(2) any unexplained events/ a.k.a. miracles

Plus if a religion is correct, for the sake of the argument lets say Christianity is true. Then Atheists don't go the heaven....however, if the atheists are right, them...we all cease to exist. its a lose/lose vs. a win/lose. even if there is only one chance in a million that Christianity is right wouldn't you take the chance?

Atheism requires the same (more in my opinion) then many religions.

Think about it,

the New and Old testament do not have errors in the original
some errors are apparent errors there are explainations for, a few might be bad translation or copy problems

saving faith is a leap toward the light and as Jesus commanded loving God with all your heart and soul and mind and strength... so mind is included

I do not feel other scriptures are inspired
