At a party, what is better:

a. A person that talk nonstop about every stupid thing and comments with stupid replies, and everyone laughs or

b. Someone who's quiet and speaks only with thoughtout and clear phrases.

I know ideally somewhere in between is best, but just between these two, what's more pleasant? What's deemed more appropriate.

"Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath"--James 1:19

The book of James in the Bible has a few other things to say in defense of silence, but this one springs to mind first. Look up Ecclesiastes, too, while you're at it; maybe Proverbs as well.

My answer to the question is "b". Partly because it reflects my own style. Also, I don't trust anyone who is overly talkative.

Well, a person who talks non-stop about a complete pile of rubbish becomes tiresome and intolerable. But none the less they are entertaining and you're night with them will probably pass quicker.

A quiet person can invoke that same intolerance in others because they are hard nuts to crack and a lot of people find silences very uncomfortable. But a person such as them choose thier words wisely so you can be sure when they do speak it will be relevant and interesting than the rambling loud mouth.

Personally, I would go for the thoughtful pondering type as they offer a more genuine conversation where as the other will just talk for the sake of talking.

in a party i think (a) is better. because if you go with (b) it would be boring. a loud mouth is not at all good, because that kind of person is embarassing sometimes but they are the life of a party. for a friend i would prefer a thougtful one and for sure i will get along with him/her.
