There are Reconstructionist groups that are worshiping the old gods and who are trying to put together what information we have left. These are not the same as re-enactors; they live their lives honoring the gods of a particular area and the culture. Some tenets of ancient beliefs need not be brought into the present. Examples include human sacrifice and the thought that women are second-class citizens.

There are links to different organizations at the end of the article.

If these old religions were so great why don't you detail what their beliefs and practices were and what made them so peaceful. If you spread their philosophies and they are so clearly better then Christianity and Islam then people will begin to follow them.
The problem with your rant, after the So called question is you are interchanging the different concepts, Christians and Muslims are terms referring to a people groups, all that is required to be attached to this people group is to claim the name of the Group. This is even more crazy then suggesting just because Hitler was evil and did evil things in the name of Germany all Germans are evil ( forever) and anything they say or believe must be wrong.
As far as your last comment about Christians and Muslims preventing proper education of morals, first you must define morality and defend the basis for your definition. Not to mention the fact that again you are using a phrase that's really referring to very board people groups and not specific systems of belief

I think your opinion only see a part of the history, in fact always we use to see only the part of the most harmed, but if you read about the old religions in Europe, most of them didn't disappeared because of the Christianism, the Christianism, in fact only finish to destroy them, but most of them where in war since the beginning of the history.
So see the example I know best, Spain, here there were, Iberics, and then Celtics invaded us, of course killing some of Iberics, late we were invaded by Romans, at first time they accepted the old religion, but when the empire change to the Christianism, everybody must to be Christian, then come here the Empire of Godos, and killed people with the old religion because, they were an offense to their gods, and finally a King change his religion to Christianism, and come back to kill others, finally the Muslim invaded us, but when we reconquered Spain, the king ordered to kill Muslims and Jews...
So all this text is to try to show you that religion is only another way to control people it doesn't matter the religion or God, If religion wouldn't exist we would kill each other because of the clothes we wear or anything else...

That is what the Neo-Pagan movement has been trying to do for generations. However you put too much on the Muslim/Christian conquests, it's not as if other cultures didn't invade and conquer, that is the way of the world. Alexander was neither Christian nor Muslim, nor was Caesar, Attila, Genghis Khan, Hannibal, the Aztecs, or a hundred others. Warfare, despite the high sounding rhetoric, is ultimately about land and power, not faith or conversion.

Certainly you have put forth a great idea that all the human beings in the world should consider. In the name of the religion we have been losing all the human values and transforming ourselves into beasts. Even beasts do not kill their own species. We give more importance to the religious rituals than the actual teachings they impart. Much of the hatredness can be relieved and blood saved if we all succeed in bringing all the religions into a common one. Shall this dream come into reality?

I think you can bring back as many "religions" as you'd like to. But until you can retain some level of spirituality in your daily life, religions are worthless. The practice of religion is just repetitive motion. Being a Christian is just that----you are a Christian, you don't just go through the motions and repeat prayers, repeat motions that become about as meaningful as yawning.
Religion has nothing to do with faith and spirituality. So, bring them all back. It won't make any difference. Once you accept Christ as you Savior, you are a new creature---behold all things become new. Christianity is not just the practice of a religion. It's the living of a Christ-Centered life.

Wow, that is a very strong opinion, and being a Hindu, i feel your pain.....but violence is not the answer for anything. These lost religions can no longer be retrieved and what is left is only sorrow and sadness...
I guess what we as a community must do is PROMOTE PEACE, and NEVER stoop to the low level of these people who carry out bad deeds 'in the name of God'...because as soon as the blood of innocent people colours their hands, they will all GO TO HELL....

"Chrisians and Muslims viciously attacked classic religions in any land they invaded." It replaced into the Catholic church who did the murdering. The administration has a similar thoughts in the present day. they purely do not have the skill yet.

That reminds me. There is a mountain range in the north of India by name Hindu Khush. Ever wondered what it means? 'Slaughter of Hindus'. No prizes for guessing who were the slaughterers.

Those religions mostly were not destroyed. Their traditions and customs (and many of their beliefs) were simply incorporated into the Chorg collective.
