Night classes for courses that you would expect to have a lot of women on.
Join a book group.
Go on a rambling or activity holiday, or conservation break and meet like minded people.
Libraries, Supermarkets, aerobics classes etc.

The most easiest way is to try to meet somebody online.. You can meet a lot of people at the same time, you can make selection of who you would like to continue talking, you can meet the selected person in depth and she rejects you (which is almost impossible if you meet her really) you will have a little bit different attitude toward it than if she does that straight into your face..

Why don't you try doing things you really love to do.While doing them, you will come into contact with women who like the same things you do.Therefor you will already have things in common.I had a friend that met his wife while doing something called caving.That is an activity where you go cave exploring in a group.Needless to say,he found someone who was as adventurous as he is.I hope this doesn't sound too strange to you and that it will help. Go to an over 25's bar, you tend to find that they have a much more mature relationship with alcohol.

anytime you are out and about in the street or in a shop, you can always try and start a conversation, if you get told to move on, then move on.
but it depends on what you are looking for. one nighters then pubs and clubs are a virtual certanty especially late at night near closing (or so i'm told).
however if you are looking for a mid to long term relationship then as i said at the top of this answer. try asking her to go for a coffee etc to get to know her better.
just a thought.

Zoo, Museum, art gallery, even the laundry mat...Join some social clubs, they have a lot of meetings at these types of places...Good luck to you!
