My parents use to put whiskey on my teeth when they were growing in. And ever since I was a kid I always had alcohol. Not to the point of being drunk. I would take sips of my parents wine during dinner. Use to think beer was Apple Juice. Use to put some alcoholic mint in my water when I was a kid and I would take it to school. Im now old enough to drink and its not something that I care really about. Have one or two drinks, but not to get drunk. And as for my religion, not Christian at all.
Shoot, don't catholics give you wine as Jesus' blood? Didnt Jesus turn water to Wine? So, I don't think its that bad.
Everything in MODERATION.
Glass of wine with dinner is good for your heart. Just don't over do it all the time.

Obviously if you are a minor, then you should not be consuming any kind of mood-altering substance and that includes alcohol. Alcohol is a highly toxic, highly addictive substance that ruins the lives of millions of people. A hundred thousand people die every year as a consequence of long-term alcohol abuse.
The morality of whether or not to drink is irrelevant in the face of the negative health consequences of alcohol consumption. It is just an amazingly poisonous thing to do. However, if you are an adult and you really do practice moderation in your consumption, then you have at least reduced the level of damage you incur.
If you ask why then do we keep alcohol legal at all, there are two reasons. The first is that Prohibition has never worked: one need only take a look at how easily available affordable drugs are in every community in America to see that drug wars do not work. The second reason is that keeping alcohol legal helps support the burgeoning addiction recovery industry which has a lot of political influence in government

I was 17 when I had my first drink. As Christian people, I feel that it's not bad to drink as long as we don't get drunk off it. I personally drink on occasions. Not only did Jesus drink wine...he made it!! The Bible even tells us that we should drink wine when we are sick.

My father let me try beer when I was 15 or 16, and I didn't like it. First time I drank on my own was at 19.
I don't think that drinking alcohol is a sin, as long as it's done in moderation. Drunkeness is worse, because it may lead you do committing other sins.

I was 5 when my Grandfather made me take a drink of his beer. It was nasty and I didn't take another until I was late teens. I won't be doing that with my kids.
There is nothing wrong with alcohol in moderation. It's when people try to escape into the glass that's the problem. And it doesn't matter what religion you are. Too much alcohol is bad, a little from time to time can be good.

Sure, it's ok. I believe even Jesus drank *some* wine. I don't think he drank out of the Jordan River all the time. But Christians shouldn't get drunk-drunk. That would be self-abuse.
I was like 6 yrs old sipping my dad's PBR way back when. Only a few sips before he took the can away.
