Does anyone know what glue to use to glue synthetic fabric to hardboard?

It has to be glued really stron and it is a very large surface (10m2)

Hot glue gun
staple gun
or spray adhesive

Car upholsterers do several things. 1. they first cover the card board with an aerosol (spray on)adhesive (get it at a hardware store or car parts store) 2. then they pull the fabric tight and staple the back where it won't show.
The reason I tell you about car upholstery is because it is so durable and it is tried and true!
