I am a trainee architect and the way I went about it was this - I wrote out my CV and a cover letter telling them that I wanted to work part time 4 days a week and go to uni on the fifth.
I sent about 250 of these to various companies. When I went to the interviews, some companies just said that it was standard practise for them to pay. In other interviews I asked if they had any provisions in place for help with uni fees. I now work in a small practise and they cover my fees. The only downfall is that if I was to quit my job halfway through an academic year I would have to pay back that years fees.

I have had a lot of kids approach me with this. The only ones I ever sponsered were the ones that came to me face-to-face and asked. They all had very good reasons why they needed the help, but the one I sponsored said this, "I know you hear excuses all the time about why people never go to college: I'll never get in, I can't afford it, etc., but I'd like to believe that I'm different. I am not going to sit here and say that I will get straight A's or never miss a class. I am just going to be honest. I will try. I will do my best to stay at the top of my class, I will do my best to go to class and I will do my best to show some class." He is now in his second year at Mizzou.
