Since Christians deny there is a prophet after Jesus, why would you warn about false prophets if there weren't going to be any more prophets. Wouldnt it make sense that he was saying that because there was a prophet coming after him, the one referenced in the beginning of one of the gospels, 'are you elijah, are you the messiah, are you that prophet?' Three distinct people. He talks about a comforter after him, and the greek means another like him rather than just another, since they have two words for another. So evidently he is talking about another prophet like him. No?

Obviously, logic wise, it doesnt make sense to talk about false prophets, you would just say there are no prophets after me, so it will be clear that they are all false prophets. i thought that was obvious but ok

And you know that the disciples of Jesus call him and man, and a prophet of God in the bible so if we take the bible, he is a prophet in normal terms

If you think the comforter is holy spirit, then why. the holy spirit was known to be there already, so not coming after, and the actual greek word means another like jesus, which would exclude that meaning also.

Greek is a very specific language, ok, so it specifically says another like Jesus. Also, for people whose livelihood is studying the bible and its sources, the cliam is frequently made that Jesus never claimed equality with God. Why would you say worship God, my God and your God if you really meant oh and also worship me. Wouldnt you make it so explict that there could be no confusion?

Christians would naturally deny there would be a prophet after Jesus - very insecure, you see..

But Jesus knew there would have been many enlightened men before him and many to come. But just beware of false ones who just want to cash in on the position that clever, kind and admired prophets have.

Jesus may have said the words as quoted, but only Christians created Christianity, decades after his 'death', therefore having the opportunity to add a few extras, e.g., that there would be 'no more' prophets.

Jesus was not a prophet. I believe the gospels refer to the Holy Spirit as the comforter who would come after christ.

Jesus was the Messiah fortold by many prophets.

Wikepedia defines prophet thus;-

In religion, a prophet is a person who has directly encountered God, of whose intentions he can then speak

Therefore I feel that there can be other christian prophets just no more messianic prophets.
St Francis was prophetic so was mother Theresa and St Bernadette.

All three religion started from the Old Testament. Jewish, Christian and Muslim.

1Jewishs missed the boat once and they are still waiting for messiah/Jesus to come..

2..Christian are fallowing the teaching of Jesus.

3. Muslims religion is created believe that Jesus is messenger of god but they choose to fallow the man/Muhammad.

Read the KJV bible Mathew 7-13:27 Jesus said "Beware of false prophets" in other word Jesus said was the last real Prophet. So he know it there are going to be other people acting like prophets and here is Mohamed saying that the Gabriel the angel showed up to him. hello, does this ring up to you.

Many times I see God, Jesus and John of the Baptist in my dream, and that what marked me to convert to Christianity from Atheist with Muslim family, but that don't make me a prophet, I 'm just Gods and Jesus worshiper. So why they call Muhamet the prophet, when every one was warned by Jesus, There will be other prophets after me but they are fake.

In the Old Testament prophets used to speak to nations and kings about what God is saying because God made no direct link to them. But after Christ with the release of the Holy Spirit to everyone, the message of the prophet became more of a confirmation to the individual. Because God is now speaking throught the Holy Spirit (The Comforter) to every individual persons. God said "Harden not thy heart when you hear my voice."
Jesus mention about false prophets/Christ becasue many will come and claim to be him like Mohammed, Sa-las-ci (the one Rastafarians worship) and others. Event to present day you hear about cults all over the country claiming to be the Christ. Jesus said many will come and do wonders, but do not be deceived. Test the fruit of the spirit.

This is reading into the text. It is putting things into it that arent there.
The Greek is a very specific language, unlike arabic. This sort of interpretive flexibility is simply not built into the language.

The huge number of times that Jesus explicitly claims equality with God radically outnumbers the times that he didnt. The specific things he did, including the order and number of miracles was a proof text for the Jews based on a section of the book of law, meant and only meant to prove that he was the Messiah.

If you want to study the words of Jesus that is good. If you wish to make people leave the love of Jesus for the love of your prophet, then that is not good. In your religion what is the punishment for converting, and denying the words of your prophet?

Jesus said "I and the Father are one" also "whoever has seen Me has seen the Father." The Pharisees were angry at Jesus for making himself equal with God. Other passages in the Bible show Jesus making himself as one with the Father, in particular the "I am" statement when describing how Abraham saw and rejoiced in his coming. When Jesus said he will send another like him, the Paraclete, he was not referring to a man, as Jesus himself told us he was not merely a man. He would send another like him, the Holy Spirit, to guide believers. Also Jesus refers to False Christs Rather than prophets, meaning those who would distort his words to turn people away from the truth He has spoken. False Christs are not monsters with 666 on their forehead. Rather they are more likely to be professing Christians who distort the Word of God (eg the Word Faith movement who declare that Jesus' physical death was not enough to destroy sin, but his spiritual death was needed too).

He said that because he knows the temptation of the dark side and our weakness. Evil has the knack of using God's word to deceive man. The Bible says that Christ will come again in the same way Jesus ascended. The darkness can send prophets to mimick this prophetic spectacle to deceive many. That is why he is warning us about this wicked designs.

Before we had the Bible in its entirety, God revealed his will to specific people and they were called prophets. Now that we have God's Word in its entirety, God no longer needs to reveal his will to specific people because he has already revealed his will to us in the Scriptures.
In the New Testament time period, a prophet is anyone who shares the Word of God with others. A false prophet is someone who claims to be teaching the Word of God, but their teachings do not match what is written in God's Word.

Jesus replaced into talking about Moses, the prophets and the church homes even as he reported "pay attention of pretend prophets". Revelation 13 is concerning to the time from Abraham till the arriving of Jesus the Christ as printed in Revelation 14 and 15. Matthew a million:17 confirms that the time from Abraham till Jesus the Christ are a similar as Revelation 13:15. information: a million Kings 10:14 is (666) as printed in Revelation 13:18 600 threescore and six. As Moses lifted up the serpent contained in the desolate tract (John 3:14, Revelation 13:13-15, Moses, the ten plagues , the parting or the reed sea, the fireplace which got here down from the sky). and Numbers 21; 7 And Moses prayed for the persons. 8 And the LORD reported unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that all and sundry it is bitten, even as he looketh upon it, shall stay. 9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and placed it upon a pole, and it got here to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any guy, even as he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived. this isn't God the daddy, for no guy hath ever heard the voice of God the daddy (John 5:37) Moses is being deceived by the serpent. The serpent, i'm that i'm, the devil has taken the call of God in ineffective, and deceiveth the wohle international. something else of the passage to "pretend Prophets" Matt 7: 16Ye shall understand them by their culmination. Do men assemble grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 then back each and every solid tree bringeth forth solid fruit; yet a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 a good tree can't carry on evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree carry on solid fruit. 19 each and every tree that bringeth no longer forth solid fruit is hewn down, and forged into the fireplace. 20 Wherefore by their culmination ye shall understand them. Moses killed a lot of human beings, international locations and tribes, he even killed better than 3000 men, women human beings, and toddlers of his own human beings contained in the call of his god.

the comforter you are refering to is Ruach HaKodesh, the Holy spirit of God, the indwelling Spirit of God is what changes your heart to care, changes you and instead of having the 10 commandments written on tablets, the ruach Kodesh writes them on your heart. Read acts when they were in the upper chamber, then the ground shook, and flames of fire appeared above their heads, they all started to talk in tongues, and went from being people in hiding in fear from jewish reprisals to power evangelists, healing the sick, doing all the things that Yeshua Himself did, what a change indeed!
The Holy Spirit also is a link to God that allows everyone who has accepted the Moshiach to have the potential of becomming a prophet, healer etc, so this comforter was the Spirit of Yahweh, not leaving us as orphans, but connected to God Himself, and the fact that you could not see that in the writings is also proof that you need to come to repentance yourself, accept Jesus, recieve the Holy Spirit, and then you may actually begin to be able to read the bible with understanding and not your flawed understanding and interpretation.

Jesus warned of false prophets, people who would "preach" in His name and act like they were sincere in spreading God's truth, but would actually be lying to people. We are to know our faith well so that we won't be fooled.

The comforter that you refer to is the Holy Spirit. Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit as a guide and protector and comforter to help us stay the course in our faith. I assume you're talking about Muhammad. No, Jesus wasn't referring to him at all.
