The US President is the Commander-in-Chief of the army and navy of the United States.
Litle wonder that he chooses to ignore other Commanders, and others' Commands !

The sixth commandment is pertaining to Murder not killing.
I don't where this is a Religious question, it seems to be a political question with a religious overtone but never the less I will answer.
We are over liberating a country. Giving them the opportunities to live free as we Americans do. What is wrong with that? Why can't everyone in the world have a chance to be free? When we get finished over there (assuming the liberals will allow it) Iraq will be a better nation. A FREE nation. The reason that USA has to go over there and fight is because no one on that side of the world had the guts to stand up against Saddam and his reign of terror. But that has all changed. Whether you believe it or not this is a JUST and VALID war. And if all the liberals would just shut up and allow our President to do his job then we could finish up over there and our troops can come home. But that will never happen. Liberals would rather fight their fellow countrymen her at home, for their own personal gain, then fight our enemies of the world for the betterment of the world. They want to cry out for the "innocent" Taliban Terrorist rather than the truly innocent people who the Taliban has killed. We all need to get behind our troops and support them in their time of need. GOD BLESS THE USA!! GOD BLESS PRESIDENT BUSH!! AND GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU!!

"Thou shalt not kill" could also read, depending on how it's translated, as "thou shalt not commit murder."
Not all killing is murder. Most of it is, of course. And all killing is certainly regrettable and undesirable -- but it's not always murder.
For instance, would you take your logic further by stating that we had no moral basis for entering into World War II? Would the 5th commandment have prohibited the US military from killing German and Japanese soldiers?
I hope that the results of such pacifism would be obvious -- the entire continent of Europe would be speaking German right now, as would perhaps much of the United States east of the amber waves of grain.
The entire Jewish population of Europe -- not to mention Slavs and other groups -- would have been annihilated, in the name of the "purity of the Aryan race."
Most of Asia, meanwhile, would be speaking Japanese, as would everyone in Hawaii and probably the US west coast.
The Japanese wouldn't have treated the native populations of those places any better than the Germans treated the Jews and the Slavs.
This is what would have happened, if we had employed your pacifist stance in 1941.

The Bible says there is a time for everything. Including a time for
war, and to kill.
This is all prophesied in the Bible. It says the Medes and Persians, (Iran), will rsie up, and form an alliance with Libya and
Ethiopia.
The Chittim mentioned in the Book of Daniel are I believe the U.S. The original Chittim were the descendents of Atlantis, the
Red peoples.
God hardened pharoahs heart to serve his purpose. Maybe he
hardened President Bush's.

Kill (10 commandments) is correctly translated murder
There is a big difference between kill and murder.
Is the Iraq war considered killing or murdering?
I guess only time will tell.
P.S. There are NO major wars directly related to religious ideology

War to promote freedom comes at a cost. If you remember in the Bible it speaks of many wars that were started by God to promote his people. There are going to be sacrifices made when it comes to keeping your country free and safe. Sometimes those sacrifices come at a very high price. Too bad so many young people are afraid to commit to their country in that manner. If it keeps on going in that way won't be long before America is no longer the home of the free and the brave but the home of the slaves and the cowards.

The bible says that wars will be fought and it will be God's will. If you are quoting scripture then maybe you should read some of the Book it came from and you will realize that war is inevitable amongst God's people. Try the book of Revelations.

If you are going to seek religion to ask that question, think about how many wars are founded upon religious beliefs...if you want "PEACE" and "Equality" - then something has to be done...i don't think it's fair that we must go to war, but if we are going to be indanger and are the most powerful big brother country ever, a little helping out doesn't hurt....

The translation of the word kill in that instance is murder. Do you remember 9/11 when our country was attacked? That was murder.
When we kill terrorists, that is called self defense. Not murder. Would God expect you to allow a criminal to break into your home and kill your family and you to just stand there and let them? Or even your neighbor's home and kill their family? Of course not.
