not only does the Bible not cover every subject, such as abortion, cloning, or genetic engineering, but it also quotes from other texts. For instance the Book of Jude quotes from the Book of Enoch and calls Enoch a prophet, but the Book of Enoch is not in the Bible, well it's not in most Bibles

Danny H, we replace the natural method with technology all the time, we drive our cars to places instead of walking which is the natural way
nowhere in the Bible does it sayusing technology to create life is wrong
and nowhere in the Bible does it say abortion is murder, which is my point.

Yes the Bible does talk about abortion: "Thou shalt not kill."

Cloning and genetic engineering? Cloning is the process of manufactoring human beings or animals outside of the natural process. This is against what God designed for married people.

Genetic engineering is good if the research is for medical purposes, but should not be used to replaced the natural method of creating life.

Because an intelligent examination of the Bible finds it extremenly lacking. In fact, such an examination reveals the Bible as a laughable attempt by a primitive tribe to explain the complex world around them. Thus, quality knowledge must be sought outside the mythology of the Bible.

Your right the book of Enoch is not in the canonized bible because the church said not to put it in there. If you read some of these lost books of the bible you can understand why the church didn't want them added. A lot of them have contradictory teachings as to what the church decided would be their Orthodox views on Christianity.

Well, see, there was this ancient Greek philosopher, named Moronicus... and his followers, which make up about 87% of the population of the USA... are known as 'Morons'... and they think that all you need to get by in this life is to reject knowledge and critical thought, and, instead, substitute the myths, superstitions, fairy tales and fantastical delusions of an ignorant bunch of Bronze Age fishermen and itinerant goat herders. This replacement for knowledge includes such items as:

*  a universe in which all that exists are the earth and heaven
*  solid 'firmmament' structure (the sky) seperating the earth from heaven (terrarium earth)
*  talking snakes and donkeys
*  demons chased out of people and into pigs
*  friendly spirits
*  evil spirits
*  walking on water
*  multiplying loaves and fishes
*  people raising from the dead
*  stopping the sun in its tracks
*  parting seas
*  people being bodily sucked up into heaven (which, by the way, lies on the 'other side' of the sky)
*  world-wide flood that drowned the earth to a depth of 40 feet above the tallest mountain
*  creating people from dust bunnies and ribs
*  magical tree of knowledge
*  god speaking from a burning bush
*  ritual cannibalism, by eating god in the form of a cracker.
