You need to get him to see a good clinical nutritionist as maintaining good health is difficult with all those conditions.
He really needs to eat right for his diabetes and have that combined with a healthy diet for weight loss. The sleep apnoea may improve with all this.
Please seek a professional with experience in planning diets for clinical cases.
And good luck, i hope it all works out for you.

If he's not moving much, he only needs to eat the minimum.

Almost not red meat (1-2 a week), lots of fruits (see with doctor because of sugar) and vegetables, low-sugar, low-fat diet.

fish or poultry every day w/o red meat.

that way, he'll lose weight and be more mobile.

Wish you the best ! Good luck !

First, tell him about how your feeling right now about his health and weight.

Secondly, try to get him to go to a nutritionist to get a diet for him and have him ask his doctor about which exercises he can do that could be easier for his hip.

Do the diet and exercise together. He sees you doing it will give him the confidence and encouragement to do it too.
