How Long Does Sauerkraut Last

2017-01-18 04:43:15 · answer #2 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

Sauerkraut in its own container can last for months after it's been opened. Pork, however, tends to go bad fairly quickly even if it's been cooked. If you have leftover kraut and pork, and if the kraut has been sitting in the same container as the pork: I would try to eat it within three days after its initial preparation. By the third or fourth day, I would rather throw the leftovers out rather than risk getting ill.

in case you extremely left them sitting out at room temperature all day, then they are no stable. the right thank you to thaw frozen meats is to circulate away them decrease than refridgeration for an entire day (while you're crunched for time it quite is okay to circulate away at room temp or thaw decrease than lukewarm working water, yet for decrease than a quick time, and then change to the refrigerator). 5 days is many times the coaching for protecting uncooked meats so in case you had thawed them the properly suited way they could be large till finally Monday.

cooked or uncoooked?

sourkraut by itself can last a very long time, even months. the pickling process was originally used to preserve food for long times.
pork, uncooked, I would give 2-3 days at most. cooked it might keep a week.

Not for more than 2-3 days, but you could freeze it, without problems.
