Hi,
Just a note to the wise is sufficient. If you don't believe in God then that is one thing, but if you mock God then He will deal with you severely.

Throughout literature and mythic sources, you will find that different gods demand different things--and some demand the abolition of other gods. To find the deity that work best for you, learn abou tthier mythologies, and how they were historically worshipped--the one that reminds you of yourself, or the person you want to be, or just someone you think is "kewl"--that one will "work out best" for you.
It is easy to reconcile the idea of worshipping a different "god" than someone else by realizing that al things that humans have taken for divine represent the same thing: Humankind's need for something greater. No matter which god you worship, you are still worshipping God--just in a way that better reflects you.
It's all about personal identity, and respecting the divine.

I have indeed tried the worship of many many dieties.
Let me break down what i got from each:
Christianity : a healthy disrespect for organized reliegeon. Its full of corrupt clergy. Some of the true believers are great people, but in bulk, they are superstious lunitics bent on world domination.
Satanism : one of the few religeons that focus solely on this world. Got a bit of materilistic greed from it, and an awareness that pysic energy is a form of currency...and most people unconsiouly try to steal it from you.... the ones who know what they are doing will drain your life's happiness.
islam: a wonderful reliegon base on science as well as god. However, thats only the Koran ( their bible) the other books that go with it... are mainly about enslaving believers into following the whims of their clergy and subjugating women. not that great... lots of great people here... but recent bad pr and a rise in the corrupt fundmentalist makes it a risky gamble. also...no real miracles for me.
Buddist> peace is a great thing to have.... but alas they remove themselves from the world and refuse to be a part of it. learned how to meditate and what inner strength is.
confusinism : lots of pithy sayings that follow the proverb : for every proverb there is an equal and opposite proverb. great for wittisism but useless otherwise
Wiiccan : one of the best. no :"organized" religeous corruption. But, hard to find those not corrupted by "new age" propaganda. most are just playing the part not believeing it.
However... the idea rocks. and is one of the best belief systems there is. all about personal spiritual growth....and screwing with probablity is a handy tool.

now, THAT is a great question. You just want to pick the "most convenient" god, is it? or does the phrase "worked out best" mean something different?.
anyway, as someone who believes there is only one god, my answer is - it doesnt matter which god you believe in - its all different colored glasses to look at the same thing. I myself visit hindu temples, churches and mosques but anywhere i am i just pray to "god" - the entity behind all these appearances.
I dont even know why i bother to answer such a question, but there it is anyway.

A friend of mine tried different religions - he's a strange fellow, but pretty sharp.
Eventually returned to Russian Orthodox, but thinks Buddhists are the closest to actually "getting it".

it is all about what YOU BELIEVE... what YOU HAVE FAITH in
just an example - I am not a Christian by birth, but often when I am troubled i like to pray in the peace of the church... sometimes close my eyes and pray in a quiet and beautiful garden... I can feel God around me.... I know He is listening... I mean God is everywhere...
just trust that God is everywhere and pray to him with all your heart... you will get what you want....
