The Bangkok Palace Hotel is located in Pratubnam like said before. It is quite central and close to Siam Square which is the biggest shopping area in Bangkok. Lots of stuff to see around there. Pratunam itself is home to a big market for clothing. Most local factories have their outlets located there. You get all kinds of clothing for really cheap prices there. Pantip is also in Pratunam which is a shopping center only for computers, electronics and software. Its the most famous in the city for these kind of products.

When its bad traffic the area can be a bit hard to access though. Thats a disadvantage (but this is a disadvantage for many hotels in Bangkok).

Here is some more info about the hotel:

Bangkok Palace Hotel is close to Pratunam shopping centre and Siam Square. Also, the hotel is nearby Silom, the business district just take BTS sky train to there.

I suggust you stay at Asia Hotel, in Phayathai Rd. The hotel is close to Rajthavee Skytrain Station, Siam Square, MBK shopping centre. You can take the skytrain to chatuchak market around 10 minutes.
Also, if you like to go china town you can take a taxi or a bus to go there just 20-30 minutes.

Bangkok, the capital of Thailand has equally old-world attraction and contemporary convenience served up in an apparently crazy fashion, but always with a nice look, see more with Hotelbye . At 1,600 square kilometres and counting, Bangkok is big, and the numerous different places can be bewildering. In Bangkok you can look at the Grand Palace, one of the must-see with this city. The Grand Palace was integrated 1782 and for 150 years your home of the Thai King, the Royal court and the administrative seat of government. The Grand Palace of Bangkok is just a Grand old dame that remains to have readers in shock with its lovely architecture and complex depth, all of which really is a proud salute to the creativity and quality of Thai people.

Hello. I stayed there last December and the rooms are okay. Nothing luxurious. There is a mall close by but it would take you quite a while to walk to it. The hotel offers taxi's that you can hire for the whole day and they can take you anywhere. The one we used cost $30 for the whole day and he took us where ever we wanted. Right outside the hotel is a nice restaurant and coffee shop by the corner and a market that opens early in the morning. Have fun.
