You get a form from your local Canadian consulate for Permanant Resident status. Do you have family in Canada? Can someone sponsor you? That or finding a job is the easiest way. Not sure how much the application fee is now but I believe it's around $1,500. You'll need a police check and a doctor check but you'll go through all of that once you get the ap and start filling it out. Good luck.

First of all, you would need to talk with an immigration lawyer as there are definitely some entrance requirements to get into Canada, especially language. What skills do you have or could offer to support yourself in Canada?

There are some myths about living in Canada/US that need to be addressed, such as this idea that anyone coming into the country would instantly and automatically qualify for all kinds of welfare. Whether you, personally, would qualify for any kind of financial assistance, it would not be enough to live on. Sadly, opinions of immigrants are not nearly as high as previously and, especially towards anyone who comes to Canada and immediately applies for welfare. Those people are too often viewed as parasites who live off others.

I would ask that you completely ignore the stupid, brainless answers (ie any ones that simply tell you to cross the border or which ask why you would want to live in Canada).

Lastly, learn English. While speaking English or French would help, I can guarantee you that speaking English will help you much more. Check out http://www.cic.gc.ca/ to learn more.

First, why would you want to leave your home country ? I always find it fascinating why people would want to do that when there is no war or impending disaster. If's it's fear or poverty, you and your fellow countrymen have to stand up to your government, kick the bums out and vote for someone who is not going to steal the people's monies for their own personal gain and power.
